Little help with a Rule

A girl is on first the batter does a little grounder to the pitcher. The girl going to 2ed is fast and she got a great jump. The pitcher has alot of time to throw the batter out but desides to go to 2ed to get the lead runner. She fieled the ball great and made a good throw but the runner beat the throw. How is this scored in the home book for the batter?

FC - Fielders Choice. A no hit at bat for the batter now at first base.

FYI - There is a section here called "The Umpire Corner". Good place to post this type of question. A lot of actual umps hang out there and will gladly answer our questions. However, it looks like you got the answer you needed here.
On the more involved questions, its interesting to watch the experts sometimes disagree.

How about this one. Runner at 1st base. Batter hits a hard single to CF, girl gets thrown out at 2B. Scored a FC. That one SUX for the hitter.......

Absolutely, still a FC but it does SUCK for the hitter big time in that situation...

Yea, I knew it. But, here is how it SHOULD be written. Note the *asterick.....
