The book was much better than the movie, kudos to Jack Nicolson, but the hedge animals vs the maze, creepy.

Agree about the book, but Jack Nicolson bores the sxxx out of me, his overacting ruins any picture with him in it for me. Back to the book, I read very little fiction but the Shining is one that I consider one of the best 'cant put it down' books I have ever read.

That's the affect that Harrison Ford has on me. He plays exactly the same character in every movie he's in. Kevin Costner too.

I liked Nicholson in "As Good as it Gets."

Thinking about Harrison Ford, I agree. Some others I liked alot are Grapes of Wrath, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and the African Queen.

I also love "The Mountain Men" for the effect it has on my wife - if I went to have the house to myself for a while, I put that one on the big screen. Wife and dds leave. Just me and the dog.

That scene on the beach with Diane Keaton is some of the best acting you will ever witness.
