PLAYING FOR THE TOP GOLD PROGRAMS

Does this mean i have to move to Cali to get my DD on a TOP GOLD PROGRAM??

And now that Nor Cal, FL, Tx and VA have caught up to, and in some cases surpassed So Cal Gold, its an even better Gold picture to discuss.

The best advice given to me by two different Div 1 coaches when I started to realize that my DD's might have the athletic ability and drive to play Div 1 softball.
It was not to make sure and sent out all your letters to the schools you are interested in and they will come and watch you play.What they said is when they girls are young that the high profile team was not as important as the amount of playing time they got when they are 10,12 and 14.
But,when it came time to play gold that they got on the Best most recognizable Gold program they possible could get on even if playing time was sparse.They went on to say they get hundreds of letters ,emails ect. a week and they don't look at alot of them.But they will be sure to look at the ones that say "Suzie Smith from a Top Gold Program"
This proved to be true in our case my youngest DD played for an average Gold team at 15 and had about 3 colleges looking at her.When she changed teams in the fall and got on one of the top Gold Programs in So Cal she had about 15 or more Div 1 schools coming after her after just 3 showcases and she was playing at about the same level as the year before.
So just telling kids to write letters to 100's of schools and they will come out and watch you is disingenous it is just part of the process.

I have a kid that I coached at Bakersfield this year....I also have one at Arizona State, Michigan, Indiana, Michigan State, 2 at Iowa State, Hawaii-Hilo, Wagner, Evansville, 2 at Cal State San Bernardino, and Southern Utah.

Either way, your kid's education is partially paid for.

I know that my kid is being looked at and not by top DI colleges. Do I care, NO. As long as she makes the decision to go to the college she wants to with the major she wants and it is partially paid for.

She doesn't need to play for a top Gold program, because she is still getting seen. That is what is important.

You sure you didnt get some help from a real Gold program like the one NorCalGold's DD is on?
