halo light. OK for 12U?

DD was swinging a red stealth. 31/20 I believe. Then we got a techzilla. Way too heavy apparently. So I got her a Halo Light 31/19. She is small and doesnt have alot of bat speed so thats why I went with a lighter bat. Yes, she is in hitting lessons and recently we switched to the instructor that the whole team uses. I know bat speed is also mechanics.

Seems like no matter which bat she trys to use, the coaches take it out of her hand and have her use another (usually the purple and white Stealth or a Demarni Phoenix). The techzilla was too heavy. Now the Halo Light is too light and they dont think the bat is capable of of getting the ball out of the infield.

She has been struggling since fall, bats in the last 2-3 spots, and she hasnt been succesful with any bat.


Is the Halo Light a decent bat and can she be succesful with it in 12u?

My daughter uses the Halo Light -12, and she has no problem getting a single to the outfield. Keep in mind, she is NOT a power hitter by no mean. She also bats in the 8-9 spot, one tip that seems to help her was understanding pitch selection... in that spot, the first pitch is usually going to be a strike, as the they are "usually" trying to get the 8-9 to hit not really throwing the junk. Once she realize that and stop getting behind in the count, it made a big difference. With that said, I am looking at the Demarni as now that her confidence is getting back, maybe she can go to a heavier bat not to mention that neon Pink is a little much.

My DD uses the ICon Light and has no trouble getting the ball into the gaps. It is about the mechanics and bat speed.

Calling BS - Nothing wrong with a -12 bat... She might find that the increased bat speed and better ability to control the light-weight bat will actually help.

More importantly, a kid who is still learning the game is going to go a lot further at the plate with good instruction and a dedicated work ethic than any $300 bat will ! I know if I spent that kind of scratch on a bat and some idiot coach told my kid they couldn't use it, there had better be one helluva reason why not!

my thoughts exactly, I have seen that bat in the right hands and it will definetly get the ball out of the infield and few over the fence

Let me put it this way, you wont have any trouble selling a Halo Light.

DD was using a Halo Light for about 1 year and loved it....It recently shattered and purchased another.....Getting the ball out of the infield is a LOAD OF POO.....Work on her bat speed and she could use a wooden stick and get it out of the infield....It's all about her mechanics.....We love it.....We have also recently started using a Worth Mayhem.....Mixed feelins on that bat still as it is still new......The Miken is a perfect bat for a smaller girl, especially slappers....They can really get that bat through the zone QUICK!....

Exactly as 22's DAD stated..good bat..both DD's had one...Everyone on the team wanted to use them also. Moved up to a heavier bat this year..sold both used Halo's in 1 day...

Okay ... its almost 9 and 4 hours past happy hour on the East Coast ...... but, I didn't see anyone state the obvious unless I can't read or way past toastdum ... so I'll say it .... the bat doesn't hit the ball, the player does ... if she isn't making contact there is a mechanical problem .... you can tweak mechanical problems with that bat but not correct them ... how tall is she, get her a proper length and weight bat ... have her start to make good contact and then you worry about DeMarini VS Anderson ...

Edit: 12U ? ... I say get her on the T and the diff methods of soft toss until you are happy with her mechanics and swing
