Rip It or a rip off

What's on your mind?

by sundevil » Thu Apr 02, 2009 3:32 pm

I bought into the ad that said the Rip It force could outhit any bat by 3%. My DD gave it a solid try for two months but still cannot hit as far as a new CF3 or the new Easton (friends bats) so I want to ask if it is my DD or is this bat and the 3% just a load of *&$# ??
Seen the RI post on eteam and know they don't have many fans but is the bat any good ?

Let's see, on a field with a fence 197-feet down the lines, the bat promises 5.91 feet of extra pop. Are you getting that? And how would you measure a 3% increase from you DD's other bats?

Not even close. I would say the Force is out hit by CF3 by 10 feet on almost every hit. I know the bat is alloy but the rep at the tournament in Palm Springs told me it would out hit any bat and we are not finding it true. My question was to see if others have this bat and can tell that they are having success and hitting better.
At my DD high school she is the only one that uses the Force while there are a few in the schools bat bag. It is not really a big deal just that I feel I was 'taken'. The rep also said it was used by most of the college teams and I have yet to see any college use it. We are close to the program at ASU and when I asked about the bat the coaches just laughed.

If it was that good everyone would use it. How many people besides you use it?

My DD has used the bat for over a year now. DD is a Sophomore and 16U player. I would say the bat has good pop but not as much as some other bats. On the upside, the bat is easier to swing with great balance and DD gets hits when jamed or on the end of the bat where she did not using her catalyst.

If you want big hits, I would use one of the other hotter bats, if you want higher average, I would stay with the Force bat. My two cents.

DD swung this bat for about 8 months. She liked the bat,-9 version, but what does a 16 year old know. As far as hitting it farther, I would have to say no. I would say a definte no for durability. Hit one ball off the end and the bat cracked. Called and email RipIt, still waiting for a response. (3 months)

I met the Rip It guys at the NFCA show and heard they junk talk. Then I got the bat from the rep at the Palm Springs classic (which by the way is great college ball) and I am upset because I feel conned. We are putting the Rip it bat away and now start the hunt for a new comosite bat. Thanks for the feedback and I will let you know if I find anything.
