12U Sugarland this weekend 4-25/26

by sftballjnkie » Wed Apr 22, 2009 7:01 am

Looks like there might be some decent games this weekend in Sugarland. Definately from the 97 teams perspective. Peppers and Aces may meet again too. Everyone has been so quiet in the last week or so, I thought I would see if everyone is still out there.

TX Aces 12U
TX Red Hots 12U
SL Batbusters
South TX Mojo
High Voltage '97
Houston Power 12U
TX Rattlers 97
TX Lightning
TX Stars
TX Gems
South TX Riptide
Peppers 96
Eclipse 97

Too quite sometimes, but that was mother nature's fault. Peppers and Aces should be in the top 2 spots this weekend in Sugarland.

1/2 Aces or Peppers
3/4 Riptide or High Voltage

Everyone else is a toss up, Rattlers or MOJO could cause some upsets and slide into the 3/4 slots.

mojo cause an upset. r u serious? They may upset someone but I promise you they won't be close to the top 4.

1. PEPPERS
2. Aces
3. Riptide
4. Power

Possible upsetters are HV 97/Rattlers

and what happended to the Bandits? They were signed up (tentatively) and now pop up in 14U Deer Park. Just like last year, they have a little success and start staying away from TOP 5.

Where is Thunder and Fury playing, can't find them anywhere! I would think every team out there is playing this weekend.

Not sure how Riptide will do after seeing them 2 weeks ago in Deer Park. Went 2 and out. Sent home by HV. Saw both games and thougt they just didn't seem to be the same team.

Agree that Aces/Peppers out to be 1 and 2 in either order.

Zig, thanks for not making the day so boring. I guess we will see after the weekend who places where. I am surprised you put Power in the 4 slot, maybe you are a Power parent and that's cool.

As far as RipTide is concerned, they are not as strong as they where in the past. They will get their wins but have not done anything to get them in a top 5 ranking. Their new coach is not bad as far as showing them correct fundamentals but have not seen anything impressive as far as game time coaching.

Top 5 teams need to start playing each other on a regular basis or they are going to get a rude awakening at Nats. The Cali boards are always posting their friendlies and you can see their progress. They feel confident that Texas will not get to their top 3 spots at Nats. Good luck this weekend.

Who are you putting in top 5 right now?

Aces
Peppers
Fury
Ice 96 (looking for middle infielder I think)
FB Thunder (looking for a pitcher at least)

trying to think of who else might be included on the outside:
Kaos 96 ??? (Not seen them much at all)
Crush ??? (Still haven't figured them out yet)

Wouldn't put Sting or Power in there IMO

We would love to be able to play in Sugarland this weekend but we have a few girls out of town. We will be back in action next weekend at our Invitational at Burroughs along with a few other teams that are considered to be in the top 5.

I haven't seen any proof that the top 5 teams have changed since the fall ;)

Texas Aces
Texas Peppers
Texas Bandits
Texas Fury
Fort bend Thunder

Next 5 for the top 10...

Texas Kaos
Texas Crush
South Texas Riptide
97 Rattlers
97 High Voltage---- Texas Ice

Add the top 3 from D/Fw and some of these teams drop!

I agree the Cali teams are confident the Texas teams will not place in top 3 at Nationals and with good cause. I don't believe any of these teams are ready but some may qualify but willl be lucky to win 2 games. Some don't have the pitching, some don't have that complete defence and some lack offence.IS THERE ROOM TO IMPROVE....... you bet. BUT to me some have peeked and therefore doomed to win big at nationals ;)
