... Nah Arto ... the grass clippings are mulching the mater & pepper plants ... peeps steal because they're too lazy to work and picking them up would be like work ... he got the cash register drawer ... made deposits Monday evening and it was 11 am so there weren't any sales yet ... he just got the startup money which was short because I dipped into it for extra cash on my road trip ... but as Whizzer said money can be replaced ... We've been in business together since the early 80's, the early 90's here in Lynchburg and this is the first non employee 'cash' theft we've ever had .... (there was one other time but the 2 guys chickened out ... they had left and returned and I spent those moments loading my guns ) ... Yesterday, my mate was here by herself ( aside from one sleeping sick DD ) and was outside the office which is often the case in our biz ... she thought she heard something in the office and when she walked in this guy had the register drawer out ... she grabbed ahold of him and there was a struggle .... he punched her in the throat and was able to get away ... she called 911 as the guy was running down the road ... there were 7 of them here quickly and then more came ... he made it behind or into a house or into the woods between houses ... I guess it was on the news last night because we've had several calls from customers/friends .... A friend of DD's, who lives near where the guy ran to, said the cops were all over the neighborhood and going door to door ... I Just retrieved the paper off the sidewalk and its in there ... the cop told my mate that they actually solve alot of these cases because of a 'crimestoppers' hotline that they have in town ,... peeps get a $200 reward and thieves often brag about what they've done ... we'll see ... just glad she is okay but hope they get the SOB ... but I have no delusions that they would do anything but slap his wrists until his crimes become more violent and people get hurt worse ...
