Impact Gold Having 2 Teams- Any Thoughts

by the1fan » Mon Aug 10, 2009 9:01 pm

Since everyone is stalking eteamz these days with tryouts and all, wanted to get the masses thoughts on this Impact Gold Situation. Story on the street is Impact Gold will have two teams starting Fall of this year. Best team in Houston taking on 2 teams, any thoughts? Could be dangerous!

It's the trend these days.
I think they had 20+ On their roster in Oklahoma.
Abuse is a perverted way of "winning" over others. It is the opposite of being a good sport.

Impact Gold is the best team in Texas, hands down. In terms of consistency, college recruits, etc. They are having two teams and I think they will be pretty dominant in the Gold Sector for sure, especially with two teams worth of True Gold Caliber players. If I was a Gold coach right now I would hate it knowing there is a better chance that my players would go to Impact knowing they have a better chance of going to college, and more playing time. Especially the young talent coming up this year.

You would think that they would put a more competent person in charge of their second team. They have been consistently the number 1 gold team in the state, the idea is a great one. I just question their execution at this point.

Could it be 1 team of high school kids for the new Premier Tournament and 1 team of mainly college players for ASA Gold?

I have heard it is a 16u coach moving to 18 Gold that WILL have a kid on the team.......

I don't think I would like that.

Or is just a money and numbers thing?

Didnt the Houston Power field two "gold" teams this year? Thought one qualified for Nats and one did not. I guess if you have enough girls showing up at your tryout, why turn away 30 or 40 (or more) kids if you think the best 20 of those would make another decent 18G team and the parents want (and are willing to pay for) their DDs to be part of an org with a good reputation.

That is correct. I agree in theory with the formation of the team, it just seems that an organization that has done so many right things could do this better.
