I have a feeling you don't know much about the ASA system. The players have to sign the roster but the commisioner has to approve it. It is his job to check the players! There have been numerous times over the years that things have happened because "OUR TEXAS" commisioners don't know what they are doing and don't ask!

The only reason this is a big deal is because it happened to a well known team. I don't see anyone saying anything about 98 Glory being disqualified from 10U Nationals this year. But then again, people don't look at 98 Glory because their daughter wasn't kicked off this team so the parents aren't mad yet. ;) ;) ;)

I don't fault this team either but the commisioner!

I also want to add that over the last several weks I have been told by several people that the person hating on the Kruzer team and the one that made sure they were disqualified from Nationals is none other than a parent from 14U Glory Adkins team. Apparently his daughter was not able to make the cut and he was looking for revenge.   Better be careful about adding his daughter to your team.

that is what is wrong in america today nobody takes repsonsibility for their own actions. Who cheated? Answer Kruzers. Don't blame whoever turned you in blame yourself and take responsibility for your own actions. For every action there is a consequence. You got what you deserve that is it plain and simple.

The head coach obviously knew what he was doing as he has done the same thing in the past. I can assure that the "GM/head coach" also knew about it because he is a control freak and knows everything that is going on.

I do feel bad for the kids and families that made the trip. However, should they stay with that team they now know for sure what they stand for and they will get what they deserve. :D

Who from Fort Worth ASA approved the roster?

rhetorical question: Is there any 95 player in North Texas who hasn't been on 95 Glory/ALS Kruzers at one time or another?

I understand that someone started keeping track of player turnover during 10U and that, by the time they had finished 12U, the count was over 90 players. If true, that's either crappy recruiting or crappy player development or both. Given the success on the field, maybe it's just been 4-5 truly gifted athletes making crappy coaching look good.
So what if it's a degree from Bugtussle State College...she's playing D1 ball!

Txballclub's "blame the ASA commissioner" argument just does not hold water. If a player is on an ASA roster in any age group and that team is still involved in ASA champioship play, that player is stuck. No "release" by the other coach or having a local ASA commissioner's "approval" is going to change that fact. If they are on another ASA roster they can't play for any other team.

Any team adding a player from their own district after ASA qualifiers have occurred has to make sure that the pick up player is not on some other qualified team's ASA roster. Not just a 14U roster but any ASA roster.

If you call up the prior coach and find out the player on his/her ASA roster you can't take her. No ASA commissioner can waive a magic wand and make it "okay." The tournament director in Marietta, Georgia is not going to care. If a player is shown to be on 2 rosters you are disqualified.

I don't know the player in question and don't care but my point is that why are our commissioners approving rosters and not checking the status of the players. Isn't that their job? Haven't there now been three teams this years alone disqualified for players being approved and then told that they weren't eligible at tournament play?

Just a thought.

Has it been established that an "ASA commisssioner" approved adding the illegal player to the Kruzers' roster? While I am not with the local ASA, I do not think it is the ASA's duty to make sure that a coach is not adding a player who is on another roster. One would think the head coach of the Kruzers has the obligation to make sure a player is legal. Parents sometimes lie or forget that they signed an ASA roster. However the head coach of the prior team can tell you if the girl is on his/her roster.
