since this seems to be turning into a "anti-daddy ball" thread, here is my input:
reason #1: "daddy" coach gets tired of putting in all the thankless hours only to be constantly second guessed by whiny, complaining sports-goggle-waearing parents who think their own kids are the 2nd coming of Lisa Fernandez, headed to a full ride D-1 college of her choice.
"daddy" coach decides it's not worth it and quits.
sideline parents now have no coach....and are no longer an "A" ball team...

When you update your Posting for try-outs on Eteamz every two weeks with "Looking to add 3-4 to the roster" and are Posting weekly for "Need 2 more for tournament this weekend"

Coach picks up a player for a major tournament who has been batting over 700 for the last 2 years and has one of the best hitting coaches known in softball. You tell the player that her swing is, "all wrong" and coach her into a stupid cooking cutter swing. Oh wait, this was an A ball team.

Sounds like an A caliber team...... with a B caliber coach trying to act like he/she knows it all

Parents side lined temporarily with out coach, but this spawns 6 or 7 new "B" teams.

Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.

Yep, and actually one of the top teams in the nation. Took me over 3 weeks to undo what he did. Sometimes the team's name or organization's name draws great talent. As a result the team does great in spite of a knuckle head coach. The coach earns an undeserved reputation as a great coach. My favorite part of about this coach was when he called the girls together before games and started crying (tears falling down his face crying). Or, maybe it was the part where he challenged the umpire to a fight in the parking lot. I guess to say he is passionate about the game would be an understatement.
