JCates wrote:My first post was wrote as a coach, and friend, in support of one of our players families. I was not going to leave him hanging without the support of someone from our team.

The second was in response to Softball Parents Suk who questioned whether we would have allowed the older daughter to play with us if she was average. Totally different issues. Sofball Parents Suk was trying to take this a different direction and attempt to stir up trouble with the Texas Ice 97 which I was not going to allow to happen without commenting. You are freenot to read my posts if they bother you.

Have a nice day.

In response to Jcates post...there is a way to block his messages by flagging him as a foe. I believe that is how you do it....i am sure someone will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

As for what Ice is doing...
1. Jerry is right it is not against the rules but...
2. Everyone knows that the correct thing to do during Fall is age up.
3. Everyone talks about the teams that show up to tournaments with kids that are suppose to
move up. I am sure Jerry's team has done that as well.
4. Don't know that multiple kids is a good excuse, lots of multiple athlete families.
3. Don't know how it helps improve your team by playing a kid that cannot help your team in championship play and taking away time from your other players, esp. in a key position such as catcher when you have 2 catchers.

I know the coach's and some parents on the ice team and they are very nice people and I know that they wouldn't do something that they think is wrong. So I guess this is something that is a matter of opinion and you have to agree to disagree.

Good Luck to all the teams going into Fall!

98TXRAGECOACH is right, I have been wearing flip flops for the last 6-8 years, matter of fact in that time I have only owned 2 pairs of tennis shoes, and 2 pairs of work boots, I do not wear the tennis shoes ever. There is a certain MOJO that comes with the black NIKE flip flops. If me wearing flops constitutes daddy ball, then I guess we are gonna have to just be a daddy ball team because the flops aren't coming off.

Another reason we may be considered daddy ball is because one of our dads/3B coach has a daughter on the team and she is one of the best SS in the entire state, well last year, him and his family sat down and decided it would be best if she played centerfield, since it would strengthen our outfield and since we had another very good SS. Needless to say, she is the best centerfielder in the state, if not COUNTRY now. Now thats some DADDY ball at its best. :D  :D

I see you have high regards for your players & team. As you should they are a very good softball team. So it seems with all the best girls with the best talent, there should not be a team that will have a chance to beat the Red Hots this year. I really think you might be over looking a few girls in H-town or in the COUNTRY. 8-)

Hammer, hey there, if you dont mind pointing it out, can you please highlite where I said I have all the best girls and noone would be able to compete with us? Maybe I am illiterate, but when I read over it again, I swear it only talks about 1 current player and 1 former player, and says nothing about anyone competing against us. Again, maybe I don't read very well, just saying........

and 1 more thing, you are right I do have VERY high regards for my team, coaches, and parents, and you are right, I should. We are a very good group that will do everything it takes to be a LEGIT contender in Bloomington. will we have our bad games? sure. will we lose to someone you think we shouldn't have? sure. but in the end, we will win way more than we lose and none of it will matter because the only record that matters is OUR record in Bloomington.

Coaches wearing Flip Flops on the field is like a Golfer wearing a wife beater on the Golf Course "No Class" and a lack of respect for the game. If anything you need to be in a uniform. This is the problem with todays society lack of respect for EVERYTHING.

Maybe Marti is getting paid to be a coach now and has the time to spend on the bucket with the rest of us. The Red Hots already have the biggest target on their back for 12U so there is no harm in boasting about his kids.
I do agree with him that they will lose some games that maybe they shouldn’t. I bet we all do this season. When it comes down to Bloomington the more representation we have from Texas the better, but until then let’s all go after each other has hard as we can, because in the end it will make Texas teams stronger.
