this list is for the teams that are playing 10U for remainder of this Fall and next spring....if the 99 kruzers are already playing 12U ball nothing leads me to believe they are going to go down and play 10U ball next spring...
pbj2000 wrote:JJJobson...read our earlier posts...they are not on the list because they are 99 playing 12U ball...in order for them to be qualified as one of the best 10U teams, they have to be playing 10U ball...they ahve 2 10U tournaments scheduled for the remainder of this fall and 4 or 5 12U tournaments....so if we were to start a 12U pole...they would have to fight to get in the top 10 of that 12U pole...because they are playing 12U. Since they are playing so much 12U ball we (this board) doubt they will drop down and play 10U next spring...this pole is for 10U teams for this fall and next spring...
answer your question?

I'm responding as I'm reading through all of these posts, so don't get too mad if anything I say in mine has been said. For staters, it seems that a lot of people on this board still haven't quite figured out how it works here in NTX. Teams will play up all fall and all spring, (as the KruZers are doing) while the rest of you are all playing where you're "supposed" to be. When the qualifiers come around guess who is going to be right there with you? That's right! All of those teams you don't consider 10U. They are preparing themselves to be a better ball club, and guess what? It will work. Too many
teams are worried about putting skins on the wall than they are about learning good fundamentals and playing tough competition to make them better. So you win some 24 team tournament in Southlake. So what? You'll get smoked in an A qualifier and even if you don't your be 2nQ in Nationals. If your goal is strictly to just have fun and be competitive in NTX great. If you have National aspirations then you have to seek out greater competition. Bottom line is though, if you're a 99 team then you are a 10U team. Plain and simple. You can play 12U or 14U for your next 15 tournaments & you are still a 10U team.

But the main thing at this age is developing the player and the best way to do that is to push them and to play stiff competition. Then all the trophies will come. I applaud the Kruzers for playing up.
Of all the teams listed and if I were the 99 Kruzers coach, I wouldn't want to see any of those 99 teams until next Summer. By then, his team will be on a different level when they step down. Sure they will lose "a few"

at 12U, but will run every team in 10U off the field next summer. I wish them the best and applaud the parents for believing in the though process, their players for being fearless, and the coach for having the foresight to challenge and push!
Go get'em!
OK so it looks like some people get it!

Ok i am not real sure how everyone is thinking the Kruzers were slighted by not being on the list....of the 13 tournaments they played in this year only 2 were 12u and they had a combined record of 0-4. There record doesnt reflect that they were that competitive in the tournamants they played in. They had a couple of 5th place finishes and two 2nd place finishes...one of the tournaments they finished 2nd with a record of 4-3 while while four other teams had better records than them, (7-0, 7-0, 6-0, 6-1) not sure how that happened. The DFW championship was a four team bracket (weak) and they finished with a 2-3 record. Yea they got a bid for nationals but how competitive was it (no offense to the teams involved).
I know they have a good group of girls on that team but it seems there is a constant rotation of talent outside of their core group of very talented girls. Not sure how that plays into developing a "playbook" for competitiveness. Just because they have decided to play 12u this fall doesnt necessarily make them better for 10u this summer just as them moving up to 10u from 8u didnt necessarily make them more competitive for 10u.
Well..thats my 2 cents....It will all work itself out on the dirt anyways...
Spending too much time on VTD and not at tournaments. I just watched this team play in Arlington this weekend and they are good. Period. I'm not a KruZers fan, don't have a DD in the organization, don't know them from shinola. I just know what I saw. WATCH THE DAMN GAME! My 2 cents
