Stars over Texas 14u

In the Baytown 14U Saturday, the Texas Red Hots tied the first game against Texas Stampede and won the rest of the RR games. The two teams with the best records met in a final game won by the Texas Red Hots.

The Red Hots also played in the Baytown 12U on Sunday. I am assuming they won all the games...all I can speak for is the game against the Texas Ice. Our record in the RR was as follows:

Ice 97 over Sudden Impact 97
Texas Red Hots Over Ice 97
Ice 97 over TPS 97
Ice 97 over Texas Heat 97
Ice 97 over Texas Thunder 97

The Ice 97 vs. Texas Red Hots was tied 0-0 until the last inning.

Thanks
If it ain't broke, why fix it??

If all these teams played 12s like they should then 12U would be a good bracket and we could all see whose who in 12U.

I think these teams are just hoping they don't have to play each other so they don't have to see whose who. Its okay if your 12u teams getting beat by 14u teams, but you can't let these moms and dads down by losing a 12u game.

...soundlike a little BS to me. We don't need to know who's who is 12U...and if your 14U team doesn't know then your team hasn't been up against the best competition last summer. The problem is that in the Fall, elite 12U teams are continuing to push to become better by playing 14/16U. The 97 RedHots, in my opinion, are the best in 12U in the state and shouldn't be discounted when playing in a 14U tournament.

Don't whine about who's in it...play or move up.

If I were the coach of the Red Hots I would have played up also. Ice is no competition for Red Hots. And I'm surprised they didn't beat Stampede. My daughter has played tourney ball for 7 years and they have always pretty much played up for the competition. You do that to get ready for Nationals even if it is so far away. If you play in a tourney your age group and your team is way better. Then they call you trophy hunters. My daughter played on the same team for 5 seasons with a better record than most teams will ever see. Just my opinion I think it makes the players better and they try harder. :D

Actually, I just noticed that KAOS 95 is signed up to go to Beaumont two weekends in a row (Future Stars 14u AND Fall Showcase).
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

Being left behind happens to 14-15 year olds. I agree that the arms race for 14 year olds is a sad state but that is 100% on college coaches. I've said it before: Nobody benefits from it and only college coaches can change it. The NCAA sure as Hell can't.

You could say my kid was left behind in a way in one case. Coach offered everything he could except he had no money left at all for her Freshman year. It was all already committed to other kids who had already verballed. Was a shame. She might have gone there if they had money for that first year.
