Is she the best 96 pitcher out there? Anyone know about the 96 Fusion pitcher?

Both girls are talented and both are playing up. You do not have to ride the pine of 18u Gold team to prove you are a dominating player. People believing talented players need to play 18u Gold or they are wasting their time is what is wrong with this sport. These girls will play in college and do not need play 18u Gold as 12-13-14 year olds to prove it.

Looks like a healthy rivalry in the making here - Dbat-Fusion:

Both teams have solid 1-2 pitching combo's - among some of the most effective in the 96 crop.
Dbat has a batting lineup from hell.......Fusion has added to theirs.
Neither has any noticeable weakness on defense.
Both are well coached, well supported.
Both are age pure, although Fusion does have at least one 97.

No, neither group is ready for 18 Gold but they have both proven to be competitive at 16u thus far - so be it. If they can hold it all together, North Texas 14u should be well represented in July.

How are those Diamonds coming along? Bob?

I have no idea.We left right after nationals.But I believe they will be just fine..........

Got to admit it took me a while to get through this one. While I don't know Mark Mulvaney personally , I do know that any instructor willing to put his viewpoints out on YouTube isn't afraid of some criticism. Usually those who are free to criticize are those you won't find putting anything anywhere on the web other than their comments of the originator.

A lot of the information that Mark uses for his analysis would appear to come from the right view Pro system of hitting created by Don Slaught endorsed by Mike Candrea and Sue Enquest. Not sure but I think those two are pretty good coaches at the college level and at the international level. A good system of hitting as hitting systems go in today's softball world.

Both of the gentleman who took Mark to task over his hitting style on the college website endorse Steve Englishbey as the style of hitting they prefer to teach and expound on across many boards on the web. I too am a fan of the Englishbey hitting style. I'm also a fan of the right view Pro style of hitting and a fan of Jack Mankin's style of hitting. Then there is Charlie Lau, Ted Williams, and a host of other former professionals who have through the generations claimed they knew the secrets of hitting.

My point here is that if you're going to attack an instructor you want to know some history behind individuals who are doing the attacking and what their intentions are related to the attack. Many of them out on the web today tried to discredit each other because there is financial gain involved by doing so, and it is intentional. I do not think that was the intent of the gentlemen who were making comments about Mark. Although someone with their own agenda wants it to appear that Mark doenst know what he is teaching. He does without a doubt.

When I read some of the comments on this thread about D-Bat entering into the softball world. I have to to think that those comments are also related to financial gain or loss. Someone lost money when these teams started the move from one organization to the other. Now there is hard feelings over it. Nothing new there in Softball.

D-Bat is giving girls an opportunity to play and from my perspective this always good for the sport and good for the girls. Its also a different perspective for the parents. Nothing wrong with that either.
