In most cases NO. It is true the player may get pushed a little more in practices by playing with better players at a faster pace, but what parents/player dont realize is the mental game does not develop the same. The player spends all their time being a follower, a role player, and quite frankly just another dues payer. In order for a player to develop to full potential they must have the chance to be a leader, they must have success, and they must be on the field at all times. The ones that move on and keep improving are the ones that have developed extreme confidence and leadership, not the ones who can warm up the older player.
