Noblesville Flames Tourney

by 4thegirlsthatplay » Mon Jun 20, 2011 12:12 pm

Thank you for hosting a great tourney this weekend. While the games were canceled in Columbus at Lincoln park (although it was sunny and the wind was blowing nice at 2pm) you kept working hard all 3 days to keep games being played despite the hard rains. We were extremely impressed by all the hard work the hosts were doing to keep the games going. It was nice to see all the effort put forth when you could have done what the other sanctions and parks did. Great job!!!

I have two girls two different age groups and one played at Lincoln park and the other played at Noblesville. I was at both parks on Saturday at different times and my older daughter played in the rain on Saturday morning as did everyone else. The rains did get harder around noon and gameplay was suspended. It seemed to me as I was there and it was not raining and the radar was clear for the most part that it was silly to not at least attempt to get the fields in playable condition. I spoke to several coaches and parents who would have been glad to help in any way. We ended up playing 2 games and were in the losers bracket when the new brackets came out only using 3 of the 6 fields...... just felt like to me they were overwhelmed with the amount of work it would take to get the fields into shape. I do know that at Noblesville there were a lot of volunteers (players, coaches and parents) and I was not one of them. I was only commending them for doing a great job as it was obviously a fundraiser tournament for their organization and since they currently play they all know what it means to the kids and parents to get the games in.

I also was at Noblesville and my wife was in Columbus with the older DD. I will say they did do a great job getting the fields ready to play. They did have a delay on Saturday but was doing everything to try and get somewhat back on time. As for the Columbus tourney well all I know is what my wife told be and she said it was pouring most the time they was there it did suck she had to drive all the way there for DD team to face 3 batters and they then drop the loser bracket. But it is what it is. Again great job to all the people involved with the Noblesville tourney on keeping it going through the bad weather.
