I have one question? where did rampage place in the 10 u tourney in Grapevine? sometimes talkin' smack on the bucket and not showing up backfires, right? other teams speak truth. you might not even place next weekend, we will see as there are too many top teams. roughriders weren't there, blacksox werent there this weekend--wassup with 2nd place....? might of been DNP..lol. don't talk smack till you have proven something, it is funny reading the bucket as slapleather is a fan of the wrong team.....she (lol) has to get the team colors right. :o :o :o :P no gold and red....

this board is full of rampage and glory fans according to all the votes. glory wouldnt even be a team if it wasnt for the 98's. why dont you go with 99's this fall funny they got beat anyway. might as well get beat with 99's....it would be more respectable....

anyone hear bout the kruzers this weekend? i need feedback

Ok now I usually don't ever put anything on here but this is getting out of control in my opinion. It is 10 year old girls people who knows where they will be in the next two years yes we all want them to keep playing but take it from experience they are going to come to you at some point and say they are done. Know from experience.

the thing with Rampage and Glory has gotten out of hand to many people make it about them and not the girls. The girls have always gotten along it is the parents who have problems with one and another. That is not going to change. But to come on here and talk down about the team as far as the girls go that is where I put my foot down. My daughter is one of those 99's that is on the team she is a good player and does not deserve all this crap going on here. This stupid post has been the topic of every discussion I have had over the last week just tired of it.

I wish the rampage organization nothing but the best I personally know most of the girls on the team. They have came and watched games with us sit with us whole nine yards so it is not like the girls do not get along.

As far as the top teams who is really to say have been doing this for a while now and I can say that on any given weekend any of them will win all of them are top teams to me have played most of them over the last 2 years. To base everything off of their records is not right though you need to go through look at who they played, what the scores were, how they finished that is what the top teams should be based on not so much on what trophies they bring home.

Kruzers yes have not played in many 10u they decided to play up. So their record in 10u is not great by no means but you look a little deeper they play 12u (as a first yr 10u) and yes they have lost some but they have beaten some 98 and 97 teams so to say they are not as good as others I do not believe that they can play with anyone.

Roughriders are a good team period. Well coached and the girls can play ball.

Sox they are still a good team was good in 8u and things haven's changed they will be in the hunt.

Those are just a few of the ones I know right of hand and yes there are many more.

I wish all the best and will see you on the dirt most all of you next week in Southlake weather permitting.

pbj2000 wrote:Correct Kruzers are not listed because they only play 2 10U tournaments rest of the year. If we had a 12U pole then they would have to fight to get into that pole since they are playing 12U ball.

this list is for the teams that are playing 10U for remainder of this Fall and next spring....if the 99 kruzers are already playing 12U ball nothing leads me to believe they are going to go down and play 10U ball next spring...

pbj2000 wrote:JJJobson...read our earlier posts...they are not on the list because they are 99 playing 12U ball...in order for them to be qualified as one of the best 10U teams, they have to be playing 10U ball...they ahve 2 10U tournaments scheduled for the remainder of this fall and 4 or 5 12U tournaments....so if we were to start a 12U pole...they would have to fight to get in the top 10 of that 12U pole...because they are playing 12U. Since they are playing so much 12U ball we (this board) doubt they will drop down and play 10U next spring...this pole is for 10U teams for this fall and next spring...

answer your question?

I'm responding as I'm reading through all of these posts, so don't get too mad if anything I say in mine has been said. For staters, it seems that a lot of people on this board still haven't quite figured out how it works here in NTX. Teams will play up all fall and all spring, (as the KruZers are doing) while the rest of you are all playing where you're "supposed" to be. When the qualifiers come around guess who is going to be right there with you? That's right! All of those teams you don't consider 10U. They are preparing themselves to be a better ball club, and guess what? It will work. Too many
teams are worried about putting skins on the wall than they are about learning good fundamentals and playing tough competition to make them better. So you win some 24 team tournament in Southlake. So what? You'll get smoked in an A qualifier and even if you don't your be 2nQ in Nationals. If your goal is strictly to just have fun and be competitive in NTX great. If you have National aspirations then you have to seek out greater competition. Bottom line is though, if you're a 99 team then you are a 10U team. Plain and simple. You can play 12U or 14U for your next 15 tournaments & you are still a 10U team.

iceberg wrote:Very well said. Seems everybody is all worried about winning and trophies right now. Don't get me wrong, I like to win also. But the main thing at this age is developing the player and the best way to do that is to push them and to play stiff competition. Then all the trophies will come. I applaud the Kruzers for playing up.

Of all the teams listed and if I were the 99 Kruzers coach, I wouldn't want to see any of those 99 teams until next Summer. By then, his team will be on a different level when they step down. Sure they will lose "a few" ;) at 12U, but will run every team in 10U off the field next summer. I wish them the best and applaud the parents for believing in the though process, their players for being fearless, and the coach for having the foresight to challenge and push!

Go get'em!

OK so it looks like some people get it! ;)

Ok i am not real sure how everyone is thinking the Kruzers were slighted by not being on the list....of the 13 tournaments they played in this year only 2 were 12u and they had a combined record of 0-4. There record doesnt reflect that they were that competitive in the tournamants they played in. They had a couple of 5th place finishes and two 2nd place finishes...one of the tournaments they finished 2nd with a record of 4-3 while while four other teams had better records than them, (7-0, 7-0, 6-0, 6-1) not sure how that happened. The DFW championship was a four team bracket (weak) and they finished with a 2-3 record. Yea they got a bid for nationals but how competitive was it (no offense to the teams involved).
I know they have a good group of girls on that team but it seems there is a constant rotation of talent outside of their core group of very talented girls. Not sure how that plays into developing a "playbook" for competitiveness. Just because they have decided to play 12u this fall doesnt necessarily make them better for 10u this summer just as them moving up to 10u from 8u didnt necessarily make them more competitive for 10u.

Well..thats my 2 cents....It will all work itself out on the dirt anyways...

Spending too much time on VTD and not at tournaments. I just watched this team play in Arlington this weekend and they are good. Period. I'm not a KruZers fan, don't have a DD in the organization, don't know them from shinola. I just know what I saw. WATCH THE DAMN GAME! My 2 cents

I am a parent of a 10U player (a 99) and I am embarassed at the reaction that this post is getting. My daughter is an average player, but that is beside the point. Looking at today's youth, I am just glad that she is involved in an activity where she gets to "work" beside other young ladies and try to achieve goals set forth by a coach and team.

Several people on this post have lost the reason (purpose) that I hope you started with in t-ball. It was to have the girls involved in sports, learn how to work together, and have fun. Does a birthdate dictate the level that a young lady is at mentally or physically. I have seen many 2000s that have the ability to play up, just not mentally ready. I also know that some young ladies start pitching lessons later than others, so they may not be ready to move up to 12U like other girls their age. I applaud their parents for not letting their egos get in the way of their daughter's development and having fun.

But the talking "trash" about other parents, teams, or coaches is out of control. It is about the girls. If it's not, then you might want to consider if you are it it for the right reason. My daughter's happiness is my number one goal. Hopefully, that is the way most people feel.

Before you put a post on this website, think about how it would make a young person feel. Can we please be more positive? There is enough negativity in the world. Let's not let a great sport like softball stoop to a low level. Have a great day!!!!!

very well said Bullcat!!

There are some girls that can move up early no problem. And some that may need to take the last fall season of age eligability to work on some things. Most likely mental building their confidence. I see no problem with 98's still playing 10U and I see no problem with 99's moving up early. The parents and coaches know the girls best. I wish people would quit making excuses because you win or because someone lost. ie. They beat us because they have a 98 pitcher-- there are some 98's that have not been pitching as long as some 99's.
bottomline just because someone ones birthdate is a year older and in some cases the girls are actually on months apart or a year younger doesn't decide whether they are a good ball player or not. It happens in every age bracket. There were 96's playing in 12U and I am sure that there were 97's better than them. You can go through each age group and it will be the same. So let's remember that the birthdate is just that a date. They don't magically get better each year on that date. It takes practice and tournament experience. The game is just as much mental as it is physical.

Ok here is a couple more cents... You shouldn't assume that since i quoted the records from the VTD that i haven't been at these tournaments...that would be very narrow minded of you...in fact i have seen the Kruzers play since before they were the Kruzers as have alot of NTX teams and as i stated earlier...they have a good group of girls...if they want to play 12U..more power to them, it is not for me to say where they play..my point was simply by playing 12U doesnt make you more competitive....they play maybe two bracket games a weekend aside from this last weeekend in Arlington (4th place..gratz). If they played more 10U they would certainly play more games and have the opportunity to learn and grow together on the dirt which would also make them more competitive. Again they can play where they want it doesnt affect me either way....But that being said ..on my earlier post i started by saying "In my opinion" and that is exactly what it was ..my opinion....you really don't have to agree with it...sorry if this offends you...and if the rain would stop i would be able to "WATCH THE DAMN GAME" but i am not going to drive to Arlington to watch a weak tournament.

Wow. Rough day? Sorry, I didn't mean to single you out there, bud. I'm certainly not offended by anyone's opinion on a message board either
I was more or less talking about all the posters on here that look at VTD and thinks that's a good determination of how good a team is. If you're not one of those, good for you.

I will disagree though. A 99 team that can compete at a 12U level will get more from playing up than playing 10U. Agreed that a team going 4 and out every weekend probably doesn't belong playing up. Getting an extra game or two against weak teams isn't going to help the team out any more than practicing just because they are "on the dirt". Since none of the teams around here play A, you're almost guaranteed to meet a team that you will run rule somewhere along the lines if you're good enough to play up but you're not. I'm not even saying the KruZers are that team but those teams are out there.

Rough day? Yes too much rain and the prospects of more mean less time on the dirt!! :D

I think we are in agreement about the playing up..we are just saying it differently. In a nutshell it isnt right for every team..but if you play up and are competitive..then it is the right thing to do in every case....afterall the age lines become more blurred when they reach 14U, 16U and 18U. Teams need to use this time at 10U and 12U to learn and prepare then for later.

I agree with the post above. As of 2.15p 9-21-09 we still have freedom of speech. Opinions are like a**holes everybody has them.
I will never knock a kid that is trying, busting their butt and giviing effort. At least they are not sitting home eating bon bons, playing video games and on the computer 24/7.
I don't care what the age is, if you legal your ok!
Get you 10 girls, uniforms, helments and come to play. If you wanna play rec ball and eat treats and juice boxes do that.
Opinion #1 Uniforms at least get some good looking ones.
Opinion #2 Little Debbie Boston Creme rolls are the best.
If you can't laugh at that, get life!!
Hope I don't offend anyone and get nasty emails.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
