We are in Lynchburg VA., which is in some weird way a Gay friendly city in spite of uber conservative Liberty University, which does not even allow hetero couples to hold hands ... According to DD, at the Chick Fil A near the University, openly Gay couples have been refused service ... She did not see this first hand, but was told by a 'guy' friend who was at the place with two of their gay female friends ...

And I respect the CEO's right to voice his opinion ... But if in fact he is refusing service to people who are not doing anything illegal, I don't respect that and would certainly not hold an appreciation day ... To run any legal business in most areas of the country, you first must attain a licence to do so ... That licence fee is paid to and handed out by a branch of the government ... I argue then that by accepting that licence you agree to follow certain guidelines ... Like not discriminating ...

Uno, I said you were affraid because your joke about choking down a drumstick sounded like a homophobic rant ... As in: I don't care what they do as long as they keep away from me ... ... Gays are not out to attack you or make you throw up in your mouth from PDA's at a Chick Fil A any more than most people ...

In any event, that doesn't appear to be what any article is saying ... That fervor may actually have been fallout from Gay Activist calling for a boycott ...

It's just a matter of time before gay marriage becomes legal and some/more churches will choose to perform the ceremony.

What I object to is the 'progressives' attacking anyone that doesn't agree with them and abridging their freedoms of religion and speech in the process. In that vein, they will eventually have the government try to force every church to perform same-gender marriages.

I agree that the politicians in this matter are guilty of pandering and proposing actions that would be unconstitutional. I believe some Gay activists have gone a little overboard as well. Had Mr Cathy's statements ended with just supporting the traditional idea of marriage it might not have raised such a storm, but the fire and brimstone lines after that probably stirred up more than he intended

As the CEO of a somewhat large company - he needs to understand that any public remarks he makes will get out and run the risk alienating someone. He has a responsibility to his franchisees not to take a course of action that might threaten their livelihood. It appears from some of the more recent statements he understands that now. He seems like a decent and good man who was just trying to answer honestly to question from a religious publication. Twenty years ago no one except the reading audience of that magazine would ever know, now is very different.

It is sad that first the far left jumped on it to take advantage and now the far right is doing the same. Too bad that a simple remark from an apparent good religious man can become so polarizing. I think both the far left and right need to look in the mirror and see how ridiculous this is.

This is the problem I have as well. The "progressives" have learned that they can control the agenda by vilifying anyone who does not support them. By vociferously casting themselves as "victims," non-supporters become the "villain," and everyone is susceptible to their attacks, even those who take no position at all. They will continue using these smear tactics to garner "support" from increasingly fearful political, religious and business communities.

It depends on your perspective. Maybe they use an ISO 8601 compliant calendar - like this one. LOL
