Ha :D why thank you...I enjoy debate and discussion...without some people on this site (I will not name names but you ALL know who I am talking about) attacking and insulting.

Gee now, who would that be?

You enjoy debate and discussion just as long as nobody takes issue with your positions. As soon as they do, you're down in the mud as fast as anyone on here. So get off your high horse...you look silly on it.

Anyone, including you Skarp can take issue or disagree with people's opinions without being acidic and rude to everyone who posts on this site. I am not on a high horse, just right.

I know. Because I do it all the time. In fact I can count on one hand (well, maybe two) the number of people on this site who invariably make reasoned, idea-centered arguments on behalf of their positions, and I'm one of them.

But when someone gets personal with me...and that includes adopting a patronizing, "holier than thou" tone in lieu of making a cogent argument...I get personal right back. Until then, I don't attack people. I critique ideas (or at least what I consider to be bad ones). The fact that people are so emotionally invested in their opinions that they often take those critiques personally isn't my problem. Unless they decide to make it my problem...

All I can say is you should read your above response and then look up "holier than thou" in the dictionary...it will say see skarp. I don't take your disagreements personally, if you truly knew me you would know I could give a sh** less about your opinions . Point is this is a softball blog and some of you gentlemen have turned it into your own personal domain of asinine attitudes feeling free with the anonymity of the web to harass and brow beat anyone who dares post on this site. You have almost single handedly created a reputation for this site...quite a few of the softball crew I know say...I read it but don't get on there because of those few guys blah blah. So you may soon accomplish your goals, no one will post but the few that cannot stomach others and you can just post to your delight.

I don't write anything on this site that I'm not prepared to back up with principled argument. I don't expect people to agree with me because I'm better than anyone, or because I have purer motives, or any other such nonsense (i.e., the type of patronizing crap you tried to rely on in this thread). That is acting holier-than-thou, in case you'd actually like to peruse the dictionary you keep mentioning.

I also don't resort to shouting anyone else down, or refusing to respond to the points they make. I give their thoughts the consideration they are due. But if they make bad arguments I'm not going to pretend like they are good ones, and I'm not going to lose any sleep if they take attacks on their arguments as attacks on their persons.

Can't take a vigorous exchange of ideas? Don't let the door hit ya.

Wanna get personal about it? We can do that too.

Well Unforgiven is my favorite film, if that counts.

I'm thinking Superbad must have been released on about 3 screens in Texas.

Underdog,

Whats up? I guess you had a problem finding your own avitar. Why did you feel the need to hijack mine?

I actually intentionally cut out the bottom black border of the avitar so I know that you had to copy it directly from one of my posts.

In keeping with the OP, I want to add....I think it is unsportsmanlike to take someones avitar.
To each their own.
