ROTFLMAO!!! You're joking I hope? If that's what you're hanging your hat on you're in for a rude awakening. Wait until she faces a very skilled batter swinging a Rocketech, or worse yet, a shaved bat, who will adjust to the pitching.

Really??? How so?? I've been around girls who have been wearing masks for 2+ years and I don't see it.

I'll be the bad guy here and make the unpopular declaration. I say mandate, just like batting helmets, for the very least the pitcher. I'll go as far as mandating for F3 and F5, all the way up to senior year in high school.

So, your DD plays what? 8U?
I'm LMAO.

I gave my opinion. If you don't like it, that's fine.

My DD has faced plenty of skilled batters in "Gold" with big bad RT's and worse.
I can assure you, she ain't scared nor does she hide behind a mask.

So please preach to me some more about what I should hang my hat on.

There's no winner or loser here. It's a personal choice. If sissies are what you want, then sissies are what you will get if you mandate masks.

Teach them how to play the game and not be scared of it.

Call me mister unpopular opinion. 8-)
I say keep it a parent/player choice. My dd is a pitcher and she wears a mask. She is not scared of the ball and chances are that if you hit one back at her she will catch it or knock it down and throw you out. It does not give her a false sense of protection, she knows that the next batter may be the one to hit it back at her and at this age 14u and up some of the girls can slam the ball. you just get on the pitching rubber and pitch the ball right(with spin and movement)and protect your self the best you can. My dd has come close to being hit but has never been hit in the face with the mask on but that dosen't mean that it will not happen tomorrow but if it happens she will have a mask on to help take the blunt of the impact. Just my 2 cents.

Well mister unpopular opinion, you are a complete dumba$$ and I hate to say it but when the day come sthat you are picking your dd's face up off the ground and she no longer looks like a normal person, you will think back to this post and wonder why you were such an a$$hole for her sake. Yep, as she is lying there on the ground, I am sure she is going to say, "see daddy, I ain't afriad but damn I shouldn't have left that one out over the plate". It is a parent thing butthole so start parenting before you regret it for your daughter;s sake..

Your frienf that hopes fer face doesn't get re=arrainged. You have obviously never seen it happen. It is morons like youi that make me sick to my stomach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

To those who are trying to convince these "parents" to use common sense and have their daughter wear a mask, you might as will give it up. For some reason beyond my comprehension, this "game" is more important than the protection of their daughter.

You will get comments like a mask gives a false sense of security...a comment that makes no sense to me...if the DD is secure in wearing the mask that is not "false security". Others are already confident their daughter is the second coming of Cat Osterman and is too good to wear a mask. Some are convinced that wearing a mask will turn off a college scout/coach (I may be going out on a limb here, but if the DD is talented enough to help a college program I doubt if the college coach/scout cares whether or not they wear a mask). Some will even state that wearing a mask means your DD is scared (about the most ignorant comment of all).

These "parents" are right with one of their opinions...it is the right of the parent to make the decision. If they choose place a game above the protection of their DD, then the rest of us can only pray that the DD is never hit by a ball. Because if that ever happens, that second coming of Cat Osterman might have wished their parent had not had a "false sense of security" about their DD's pitching.

That is exactly what I was trying to say too. It is the parents choice and it also the parents insurance that will have to pay for the reconstruction or maybe even the funeral if the mask is not worn. End of subject!!

It's amazing how the pack mentality takes over this board.
You have your own opinion, so that makes you a dumb***.

If the shoe fits you, wear it.

If you think a Mask will give your DD more confidence on the mound, then go for it. Just because mine doesn't wear one and I don't make her does not make me a jerk or a dumb***. I'm sorry that your little Suzie's were offended.

How many college pitchers, Corners, Middle infielders have you ever seen wearing these masks? Not many. Don't waste your time posting pictures because there aren't that many.

Some of you people really need to get a grip. You get your feelings hurt when somebody tells you anything that you don't want to hear. Yeah, me and my dumb*** will just watch my DD play college ball soon.

Here's hoping the best for all of you and your DD's. I wish no ill will like some of you.

For what it's worth, Cat never wore one. So I guess that makes me a Jerk too. 8-)

outofnowhere, funny stuff.

Peace.

It's a sign of weakness.

All I'm saying is that you will regret not making her wear it if she were to ever get hit in the face.. That is all. It "is" your choice and just think how you will feel if it ever happens and she asks you "daddy, why didn't you make me where the mask", if she is able to speak at all? That is when you will be the dumba$$ for sure, just trying to keep you out of that situation.

It's like wearing a helmet when you ride a motorcycle. You going to let your 15 or 16 year old kid do that?? I bet not.

Are you saying your Cat??

Out of nowhere, and the rest of the mask pack: you would have better responses if you didnt resort to vilifying everyone who disagrees with your opinion.
I disagree with you. my kid is a pitcher, and she doesnt wear a mask.
it's our choice.
I respect your opinion, please try to do the same.
Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.
