Boycott Sugarland

Just out...

Sugar Land ranked as one of the safest in the US (11th out of 200). We've played there a time or two with no incidents or problems....although the nachos were a tad bit under-cheesed.

Don't go by police reports made, find out how many calls were dispatched. A report is only made if the complainant wants a report. Many times, they will not make a report because they don't want insurance going up. So if it's only a window busted and something small stolen, it won't offset their deductible.

As far as Sugarland being 11th safest place, that's interesting. There's always something on TV about carjackings or something going on there. Maybe, they are referring to murder rates.

How about you read the article first before posting...From the article:
CQ Press ranked crime during 2008 in 393 cities and 332 metropolitan areas using six crime categories — murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft.

I'll read the article but how bout you read and try to understand my post. These stats are done from reports and not every incident is reported or even a report made. Just because it isn't in some stat doesn't mean it isn't occurring.

Watch the news sometime and see how many times Sugarland is mentioned when they are reporting about a crime.

I checked back with my contact and you are right about the reports. Funny thing is that the police say they move there resources to the areas that get the most reports so I would like to suggest that you ALWAYS do the police report. You don't have to make an insurance claim to file a police report but you may have to file a police report to do a claim.
What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

Relax "parents suk", my comment was simply about your small statement of "Maybe, they are referring to murder rates". I stand by my statement, no need to try and argue with me, I'm not a parent of 10u or 12u player and I certainely am NOT a big supporter of the SL fields nor do I really care what the "crime stats" of SL are. I never leave anything of value visible in my car anyway and have never gotten a broken window from someone breaking in, imagine that.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

Guess where it happened? HOUSTON, TX

I hope DD's team NEVER plays anywhere NEAR Houston.

I know it's irrational, sorry, but I will never take my family there...

Crusher, what part of Houston ? You were lucky for the help, there is a lot of Houston, dd and I go there once every week or two for pitching lessons. We try to play there as much as we can, we have several places we prefer, several places in Houston, and our almost home, Huber Ranch in Seguin, and I have even seen some serious crime in that neat little town. Its all over - got to be careful.

Donnie, it was somewhere in the East part of town. It was 8 years ago and I try to forget. Honestly, I hadn't thought about that incident for years - until I read this thread. Damn, it was a bad deal and one that I learned a great deal from.

You are right that you gotta be careful, no matter where you are. There are places in my area that I wouldn't visit at night (probably not in the day either).

I take back the statement that I won't come to Houston again. I will never forget it though!

By the way, who is the piece of work called outofnowhere? Great humanitarian!

sorry about hijacking the thread - as you were...

I think one thing we can do is rule out the umpires as thieves in SL. They couldnt see your valuables if you left them on the dashboard.
