Response to TNL's inadequate response

What's on your mind?

by anonlooker » Sat Apr 19, 2008 6:11 pm

As it is increasingly apparent that the majority of the SoCal TB community on this board would prefer that Mr. Facione of TNL not attend tournaments, and the folks at TNL don't care what the rest of the community prefers, perhaps the only way to exert pressure on them is to do so through the tournaments they wish to bring him to.

In response to TNL's blatant and defiant disregard for the So Cal TB community as represented on this board, please contact the various SoCal Associations and Tournament directors and advise them that you do not wish to attend tournaments at which Mr. Facione may be present.

Simple enough. Let's get it done.

To make it even simpler, several Associations and Tournament Directors are listed below for your convenience, as are two articles from the North County (San Diego) Times that pertain to this matter, and which may be of interest to the directors.

And finally, I direct you to:

USSSA ABUSE/MOLESTATION POLICY
USSSA will not tolerate the abuse/molestation of any minor participant in a USSSA sanctioned activity. USSSA sanctions athletic events in which it provides rules for play and a tournament structure that leads to season ending tournament opportunities for teams that register to play in USSSA sanctioned events. Because USSSA is not an organizer, it does not, in any way take responsibility for the creation, management or any other activity of the teams (customers) that register to play in USSSA sanctioned leagues and/or tournaments. As such, we encourage parents of youth team participants, the adult team participants, the community organizations who are involved in the organization, creation or management of such teams to investigate and screen the background and character of the individuals who coach, manage, volunteer or otherwise come into contact with such teams and their minor participants.

Anonlooker,
I did some research and there are 6 REGISTERED sex offenders that live within
a half mile from the park where TNL played yesterday. I bet you that the 14 teams
that played in that friendly yesterday didn't know if they(the sex offenders) were
in the stands(with parents) keeping score or not. What I'm getting at is, I don't think
our DD's are in any more danger from him than they are from anyone else. At least we
know who he is and I got believe he knows there are 1000 eyes on him at all times. As
parents we need to teach our children right from wrong, we can't keep them in a bubble
their whole lives. We can't attend high school with them and keep them away from drugs
and sex, all we can do is inform them the best we can. I personally will not go to my DD's
travel ball coach and request not to play TNL, I have no problem playing them reguardless
if he's there or not.

Lets all cut the "we're surrounded by registered sex offenders" crap, huh? Its a straw argument that has nothing to do with The TNL Cult supporting their leader and drinking his koolaid.

YOU make the statement in bold above about him knowing he has 1000 eyes on him at all times....why don't you ask him why he is there in the first place instead of trying desperately to support his presence? It doesn't make any logical sense.

He is not rumored to have done this...he is not thought to have done this...he IS accused of having sex with a minor....a player....the second such accusation....he was arrested for this crime and he was charged for the crime. It certainly sounds like he is offering the TNL crew some of his special "I did nothing wrong Koolaid" and the cultists are lining up for some Denial Refreshment.

How are all of the TNL Cult going to feel if this guy is convicted? How are you going to explain to your kid that YOU allowed this guy access to her....are you going to tell her that this guy had sex with a kid only two years older than her? Please record you conversations...I'm sure we'd all love to hear them.
Run your mouth when I'm not around
Its easy to achieve
You cry to weak friends that sympathize
