What's up with Team Mizuno?

by Pitts23 » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:51 am

Hello all, my DD is a pretty important piece in the puzzle for the Team Mizuno 99's, I have observed all the talk about this topic...

Team Mizuno is, and will be a wonderful place for her to be...they are doind all of the good things that any and all of the major organizations in the area are doind, such as hiring paid instructors to provide strentgh and agility programs in the offseason, hosting winter clinics by Div. I college coaches, fundraising that has and will continue to provide the girls with amle monies to travel to play in the toughest tournaments that will expose them to the best competition, holding tryouts and establishing feeder teams for the national teams, along with providing a very competitive, demanding, athletic, and educational atmosphere in their practices and workouts they put the girls through. Now days, the softball population is expanding greatly. There are not just going to be enough spots on the "so-called" top tier major organizations in the softball world. The teams, as well as interest in playing the sport are growing at a wonderful rate. this is great for our DD's because it brings more competition, and spotlight to the sport that our DD's are playing. This, in turn, creates a need for MORE organizations to get going so that all of these wonderful young ladies will have a place to perfect their craft to keep them out of troubl while growing up, and hopefully take them to where they are all trying to get in the first place, COLLEGE! Where they can get an education and be successful in life, and hopefully turn out better than us knuckleheads. The greater interest in our DD's sport, along with all of the players that see softball as something that will be a part of their childhood should excite everyone. If you have only 5 or 6 "so called" top org.'s to play for, you can only roster so many of these young ladies who love the sport, and are trying to have a goal in life, and do something that will keep them on the right track. from the way some people on here are sounding, it's as if, you don't play for one of the "so-called" top org.'s, then your DD should just give it up. That's just flawed thinking, and a bad way to portray this softball world that we are all involved in. We should all be very excited about where the sport is, and will be going if interest conitnues to mount, and more and more org.'s build and develop lots more young ladies, because that will be 12-13 more players per team, that won't (hopefully) get pregnant at sixteen, be on drugs, or be running away from home when they get to be 16 yrs. old. This great outlet for them provides you and them a way to connect and grow together as parents and as a family, along with teaching them fundamentals for life. Things like how to take defeats and work through them, how to handle successes, how to try to get better at something and takes that person's place, and how to take instruction, and criticism for things that need to be improves upon. These are all "LIFE LESSONS" that these young ladies need. So, once again, if your going to keep bashing people for trying to create a better life for our youth, then your are flawed. Look at all of the wonderful things this sport will do for these young ladies, and lets support them. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I don't have a problem with your post up above...it makes sense...I think for the most part the naysayers disliked the way Mizuno and D-Bat for that matter came on here claiming to be the "savior" of fastpitch softball. There is only one Savior and his name is Jesus Christ. Go ahead and do what you guys do...help the girls get better and provide more competition...but as a famous person once said..."speak softly and carry a big stick"

if d-bat and mizuno are the saviors...please please SAVE ASA in NTX :)

Well said Mr. Pittsinger.

Since there are so many factual HB facilitators, I would like to set a few facts straight that were commented on inaccurately from Txfastpitchsoftball. I am not a 12U coach as he stated so infadictally and I did not say anything about the current 12U teams not having any competitive spirit. I was actually refering to recently (in the past), NTX 10U or 12U teams not willing to travel to places like the lions den of softball which is Southern California to compete at the highest level imagineable besides USA/ASA Nationals. I don't think anyone would deny that. I would welcome the thought of more teams making that level of comittment to there teams.

I am just proud to see that Team Mizuno '98 is willing to compete at that level. I understand that their is a certain level of excitement that comes over these girls at the younger ages at the thought of traveling long distances to compete in a sport that they absolutely love, which is what I love to see. We have generated a work ethic with our girls that is unbelievable. They honestly seem to want to practice and/or play every weekend. That is what coaches work towards is to have a level of committment that makes them winners in every way, even if they lose a game from time to time.

I do however look forward to seeing all Team Mizuno teams competing at the best tournaments possible to challenge the girls at the highest level next year to prove how good they can be, which will be what they will need to do to get where it is they want to go, College.

Boy you really slapped me down there! Trevino's Gold team has its Mizuno name taken away by a 10u coach! Now that changes everything! Take Trevino's lead and stay off heybucket for a while.

Nobody took anything away from Coach Trevino. It sounds as if you are trying your darndest but to no avail, sorry it's not working out for you.

It's his team, his original negotiation with Mizuno and neither you or I can take that away from him the last I looked. Say what you will, you obviously enjoy putting words into peoples mouths. Thank you for all that you do, and I wish you and yours a happy holiday season.

Wow Txfastpitch...I haven't agreed with everything said on here about Team Mizuno myself, and not to bash what they are doing but just on the specifics of their business which is basically like everyone else on here. But you sir, just spit hatred and anger towards this organization. Even though it is the holiday season, you will still choose to express yourself so negatively! I still question and wonder more than anything on how all of this will turn out, but in no way do I wish or send negative energy towards the team or the organization for that matter.

I vote that this fastpitch guy takes a leave from this thread, since his comments are so disturbing and annoying. I would feel insulted and upset if I read what he is saying and I had a daughter that played with Trevino's team.

Anyway, just my two cents....

Now Mizuno coaches, I say you just let it be, before you keep allowing people like that say the wrong things and get you all worked up and saying the wrong things yourself. So far from people I have talked to about you they all have said good things, so don't ruin it! Let your players and next season speak for you! Just sayin...
It's my opinion....and that's all that matters!!

My DD played for Team Mizuno 99 but due to job situation we had to move and because of her work ethic and the training she recieved while under coaches of Team Mizuno she has been invited to play on another premier team in Oklahoma. We as a family felt privaliaged to play with Team Mizuno and I can tell you the coaches love the sport and the girls on that team are all quality young ladies who like to play together on the field and off ! The parents of this oranization work their butts off to make sure their girls get what they need to compete ! We miss them already but look forward to seeing them on the dirt in the future.
