He had no choice really. Americans are so sick of the chicanery and hard-core leftism going on in Washington these days that Massachusetts elected a Republican senator. If Obama doesn't tack right, and hard--or at least give lip service to doing so--there aren't many Dem seats that will be safe next year.
Healthcare reform was so poorly conceived in this economic climate that I'm sure Obama really just wants a way out of it without appearing to abandon the effort altogether. Now he can credibly tell his loony base that it wasn't his fault...

The irony is rich. The Tea Party Patriots win the Massachusetts Senate Seat, this is only the start of something big, just like the Boston Tea Party started something big in 1773. Wasn't the health care bill named after Teddy Kennedy, now it's dead on arrival.

I read about that the Republican Scott Brown, elected Tuesday as Massachusetts' newest U.S. senator, is notable for his prolific political fund-raising, reportedly generating millions upon millions of dollars from supporters during an abbreviated campaign. I don't know about more and also don't know what is right and wrong.
