DBAT"S POST ON VTD (I CALL BS)

by texasglori » Tue Jan 26, 2010 11:54 am

I am looking for any 14U eligible players that are wanting to play major college softball. Our current group features players that are already beginning the recruiting process, who have received interest from some top D1 programs in the country.

This also means that our players, parents and coaches level of dedication is second to none. Our players will workout 4-5 times a week during the summer and have unrivaled access to facilities and resources to train and expose your talent as a softball player.

If you would like to attend a team workout, or private workout, pleast contact me. Serious inquiries only.

Yes, paying D-1 schools a ton of money to come work a camp does not equate to receiving "interest from some top D1 programs in the country." I'm not quite as critical as the other posters as they do appear to be genuine in trying to accomplish something but their posts are simply just not realistic. Once those coaches start coming to your camp because they want to, then we'll all buy into it.

You think thats bad? Take a look at the new Dallas Tigers bunch. Some of the coaches on these teams are not very accomplished and they are talking college recruiting and schlorships with the 12U and 14U players. Talked to a friend of mine yesterday and one of the Tigers teams took two girls that he was cutting from his try outs. Keep in mind his teazm is average at best.
The parents told him they wanted to play for the Tigers because OF THE COLLEGE RECRUITING POTENTIAL!!! These gilrs cant even make an average B team but they are drinking the cool aid that they are going to a college recruiting hot bed.
Give me a major break here guys!
Smells like another Flower Mound, Carrollton crash and burn select experiment. See Rage! See FM Fusion! See Texas Generation!

Okay, so D-BAT is overreaching. Everyone in NTX softball knows that.

So list the organizations other than the Texas Glory (Shelton) and Texas Fusion, where you would put your eight grade or freshman 14u/16u DD to give her the "BEST" chance to get seen and recruited as a sophomore, junior, or senior at a Big XII, SEC, Southland Conference, etc. Division I school?

Who really is walking the walk so to speak?

To any of the "great minds" that have chimed in on this, I'll do you a favor. I'll keep copies of e-mails, mailings, text messages and phone call records on me at all times, so that you can fact check. Feel free to approach me at any workout/tournament etc. and I'll gladly share that information with you. This would require 2 characteristics that we teach our girls, that you certainly do not have: Courage and Humility. You apparently do have a fast internet connection and nothing better to do.

You may want to research where the big D1's are on their recruiting classes. When Larry Ray(Arizona) and I sat down this August, I was a little suprised where they were at, and who they had coming on campus for unofficial visits. Things have changed. DFW has 2-kids that are 2013's with verbals to the Big 12 right now. So where do you think the teams from last years College World Series are with their recruiting? I have an idea, since I handed out some information to 2 of our players from a WCWS team last Saturday during tryouts. FYI, the school did not attend the winter camp.

It changed everything we do with recruiting, when we start and who we start in the process.

You may want to become a believer sooner than later if you have a kid with the ability to play Major D1 ball, the window for those kids is closing earlier each year.

Keep calling BS, but you're the type who is going to find out the hard way with your own kid.

P.S. I'm glad to have a civil conversation about this with anybody, from any organization. While we want the best for D-BAT kids, we do try and help out some friends at the college level as well. When they contact me about a player, they also tend to ask about other classes and specific needs.

FYI-there is a top 25 team from the Big 12 still looking for a 2012 Lefty Hitter. We didn't carry 2012's in the Fall, so guess what? I'm suggesting kids from other teams.

...I may as well take the free publicity as well. Reference TexasGlori's post for info posted on VTD. We really like where our roster is right now, but would like to entertain any other kids we feel make us a better ball club and that we can help.

Workout Saturday 1-4 p.m. at Prestonwood Academy

Okay, I'll bite . . . who? There are two 2013s with verbal offers in the Big 12 (one at Baylor and one at Kansas), but I call BS on 2014s with verbal offers to the Big 12. . . even the Big 12 hasn't gotten that out of control.
