Now that you cleared that up, you might also want to come clean that only two 2012s have committed to the only top 25 Big XII teams Oklahoma and Baylor . . . and those 2 happend to live in the same house and look alike.

Handing out player profiles does not constitute "interest" by a college coach, and your scare tactics are either shameful or demonstrate a lack of experience or both.

He is right. It has gotten THAT out of control. The colleges don't like it any more than we all do but it IS a reality. Is it in the kids best interest? Maybe not if the recruiting process was different, but it is the way it is.

There is a huge difference between "looking at" an 8th grader and freshman and "verballing" an 8th grader or freshman. The idea that this is the norm or that a freshman needs to be, or even should be, playing 16u or 18u Gold to get recruited in the Big XII is a sham. And that is supported by the kids who are actually getting recruited and when they are getting recruited. Again, a good start is here:

amazing wrote:You think thats bad? Take a look at the new Dallas Tigers bunch. Some of the coaches on these teams are not very accomplished and they are talking college recruiting and schlorships with the 12U and 14U players. Talked to a friend of mine yesterday and one of the Tigers teams took two girls that he was cutting from his try outs. Keep in mind his teazm is average at best.
The parents told him they wanted to play for the Tigers because OF THE COLLEGE RECRUITING POTENTIAL!!! These gilrs cant even make an average B team but they are drinking the cool aid that they are going to a college recruiting hot bed.
Give me a major break here guys!
Smells like another Flower Mound, Carrollton crash and burn select experiment. See Rage! See FM Fusion! See Texas Generation!

Why do you all think that this is not possible? If the players do their work and send out letters and keep in contact with colleges they are going to get looks. I wouldn't start knocking them it can very well be true. I know of 2014's that have received letters from TOP D1 schools this year. Things are changing people and they are going after these athletes younger and younger.
I just heard of a top D1 Pac 10 school that said they are tired of waiting for players to get into 10th or 11th grade to make them an offer. By the time they come around to make an offer the players are getting snatched up in 9th grade.

There are three 2013 players on my gold roster. One has committed to Baylor, a second one has 6 offers currently and the third one has schools wanting her on campus to make offers. This is not the norm, these kids are the exceptions. There are 2013 players on other rosters getting offers but again, these are the exceptions.

I have not had a single coach even mention a 2014 player at any time. I will also say that very few schools are currently working the 2013 class. Most are still working 2011 players and 2012 kids are getting a lot of looks right now. I too have had a conversation with Larry Ray...I asked him why they do not recruit Texas kids...his response was "Why do we need to, were in Arizona and California every weekend."

Recruiting Bottom line, if your a great player the coaches will find you. There are no secrets in softball.

numerouno obviously you have not been through the process. college coaches cannot send letters, emails or make phone calls to freshmen, sophomores much less eigth graders. You show your lack of knowledge of the whole process by that statement and loss all cred.

Hey Numero Uno glad to see your on here and now we can use the word A$$hole. It isn't that I was calling that BS I was calling out the coach which always over promises and never delivers. He has a team that hasn't even attended 1 Nationals and he wants to concider himself God of softball. He attracts weak minded parents like JOE and sells them on a come to bbat we have it all figured out and then he has moderate success and beats his chest without nothing but a cheap trophy at a weak tournament....
