Anderson Bat Q & A

What's on your mind?

by umplarry » Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:44 pm

Will this second bat that is weighted differently be a -10 as well, just a different weight distribution, or a -9 or -8?

Fellow Bucketeers:

At Fullerton College we've been testing the new Anderson NanoTek bats now for the past three months and I can report Anderson has got it right.

The model which becomes available today has been embraced by all (20) of our players who have been hitting with it for the past three days.

They're saying the bat has a bigger sweet spot, tons of zing and a stronger result on off-sweet spot contact. The bat has no break-in period and is good to go out of the wrapper.

I hit with it today and had the same experience. This is an amazing product.

For the record, the first Nanotek we tried nobody liked. But Anderson listened to our feedback, made the necessary adjustments and as I said got it absolutely right.

For technical answers go to the Anderson Q&A thread and you can speak to Steven Anderson directly.

Hope this helps.

This is from Steven Anderson posted today on the Anderson Q&A thread:

I also have news about the product test. The Anderson NanoTek durability test is finished.

The local colleges were used for this test. Another test that included a test group comprised of individuals was planned but the college test was done so comprehensively and the design changes worked out so well that the product has been released and no new testing is planned for the current model. In my earlier post I asked for volunteers and I got many replies. I failed to mention that the test bats are 33” lengths and only 33” bats. Many who replied were simply too small to be useful in the test. That was my mistake and I apologize if I caused any inconvenience.

We had planned a product seed group rather than a public test but the response has been so big that we don’t initially have the product to do a product seeding program. So I thank all of those who responded but for the sake of expediency relating to weather issues we have chosen to handle the field testing through our local college teams.

However, as a result of those tests, we have decided to include a second NanoTek model that is weighted differently. Its design will especially appeal to the current RockeTech user. As this product nears release we will need to test it using very experienced RockeTech users. A comparison test is most desirable. Test product is always 33” in length. If you want to be part of this test, you must be a previous RT user and be capable of swinging and comparing a 33” bat. You also must contact me directly at Steven@andersonbat.com rather than a PM here.

They are out there but the demand is pretty big.. we were caught a little bit off guard. We're taking orders from our dealers and shipping first come first serve. all the while ramping up production.

So, say your daughter is swinging a green tech 31/21, and it is at the upper end size wise. Is the Nanotek worth getting or just stay with the tech? If its that much better, and you said players are going up because of it being more balanced, then get the 32/22 even for those that think the size they are at is the top they can go?

Question, could you tell me the possible date on the order for the local dealer? Frye's Action Athletics in Forest Grove Or.? You said orders for dealers were filled on a first come first serve, well, were is he?

Thanks

Maybe I'm being dense but I'm not sure I understand what you are asking me but let me try it anyway. The girls at the upper end, meaning they are swinging the heaviest bat they are capable of with no wiggle room, would benefit by buying the same size Nano. Girls that are very comfortable with a specific weight might want to go up one. It's still about feel. Should You buy one over the TZ? The performance has gotten nothing but rave reviews. Knowing what I know and having access to all of the products, including competitors, if I were in the market for a FP bat it is what I would buy. I'm excited by the technology. We're back to personal preference. I'm a gadget guy; I always want the newest tech.

Frye's Action Athletics was included in the first shipments so you should be GTG.
