Abilene Wylie---14
Brock---5
Their STUD pitcher (Senior is D1 committed) and STUD catcher (Senior is D1 committed) are out with knee injuries sustained last fall (should return for district play).
Their Freshman back ups were also out with injury and other stuff.
They won't win back-to-back 2A state championship without their 2-senior 2 big guns, IMO.
Taking nothing away from Wylie. They were solid.
Wylie was missing its best player and 2 others still playing basketball but you are correct it would not matter if Hayes was ready to pitch.
By the way unless one of those frosh back ups was a pitcher it would not have mattered either.
Yes on the Frosh. One is a pitcher named Morgan and the other is a catcher named Reagan (I think? Might be Rachel?). Good enough ball players, but nowhere close to their Senior team mates.

What the heck happened to ALEDO? I know they have a new coach, but dang!
Is Frisco Wakeland that good?

I thought Morgan pitched that game

Aledo started the senior pitcher, when they switched it was FW-6 & A-0 with 1 out in the bottom of the 1st. Soph pitcher came in and recorded 2K's to get out of the 1st. Next innings Aledo had 4 or 5 errors and gave up 3 more runs. The soph pitcher faced FW for 4 innings in a scrimmage the week before and held them scoreless. FW is good but not that good. Even with the soph pitcheing I think FW wins this game 1-0

Frisco Wakeland IS that good. They beat Forney last night as well. The only reason they lost to Aledo in scrimmage- they had a sophmore pitcher in there that is just ok pitcher and half the players not playing starting positions

al-e-do: I wasn't there for the Brock game, but what I was told was Morgan did not pitch either for reasons he wouldn't say! :o

Aledo has a senior pitcher? I thought that girl graduated early and went to college? I only knew about the sophomore pitcher (Brand, i think)! I guess I have to brush up on my Parker County connections again. Didn't they have a bunch of Seniors coming back this season, or was that last season?

Boswell is looking good in their district. Heard their Senior is doing well and the Sophomore is doing well too. Don't know about any others in Aledo's District. We are in a different classification, so I don't know many 4As anymore!

The freshman Morgan did pitch, and yes the Hays girl (actually a Junior) was out. She is pitching and hitting but has not been released for games, should be back soon, sometime around the 1st week of March.
