ASA tournaments

by dueceduece » Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:14 pm

Works for us too. Haven't encountered a problem. First few times I used it only Dallas tournaments were listed. Now that all the DFW's are listed it makes it much easier.

Joe can you explain why all of these tournaments in White Settlement, Flower Mound, North Richland Hills, etc. are always in high demand with waiting lists?

Its because there are about 962 B teams in the DFW area and only a handful of true A teams with goals solely focused on ASA nationals. That is why you dont see any of the areas top A teams playing in all of these B team free-for-all tournaments. I have one word for you PONY. In fact, i think I am going to refer to you as Pony Boy cuz I know how much you like to ride that white horse.

As tempting as it sounds, I think our team is best served by not playing in these tournaments with a $425 entry fee. Wow that just shy of what the PFX tour charges for their tournaments and with them at least you get to watch some professionals. I guess VTD is going to try and get all they can upfront in case this little venture is not viable down the road. ASA tournaments are $100 less. And all of the really great teams are playing in round robins and friendlys on a regular basis. They usually get to play 4 or 5 games against the very best competition in the area for less than $150. Now I know the drawback is there are no plastic trophies to hand out but you have to set your priorities sometime.

So good luck this weekend Pony Boy and to the rest of your plastic worshipping B teams.

I look forward to your modus operandi response of sniffle sniffle

Funny thing is that is what they used to say about ASA and their people...I guess either way no one is every going to be happy unless they are running the show.

For those wondering where Joe is i heard through the Grapevine (no I'm not referring to another B tournament) that he is spearheading efforts to form an alliance with PONY. Supposedly VTD and PONY are in merger talks about forming a new superpower organization to compete with ASA. They will be known as WTF.

Are the $425.00 tournaments 6 pool games and then play off bracket. That would give alot of the girls alot of playing time. Even the B teams playing against the A teams that are playing B.

OMG never did I imagine I would have so much influence over PONY Boy and his colleagues. I make a simple post this morning at 9:00 about how overpriced the VTD tourneys are and how much success ASA is having with their friendly's that cost a little over 1/4 of the price of those VTD tournaments. Then at about 1:00 this afternoon on VTD's website you see postings all over the board about hosting friendlys and how you should make VTD your organization of choice. I know I piss excellence and all but now I am thinking about making a run for the presidency in 2012 if I can create that amount of change in such a short time period.

ADNIL in response to your question it looks like the majority of their tournaments are either 5 GG or 6GG with a cost between $425-$440. Some of those same facilities were charging less than that last year for the same amount of games while they were under the ASA flag. Go figure. If you want games then why not schedule friendlys. You can get 4 games in easily for less than $150. That is what you call a no-brainer.

Joe sniffle where are you sniffle
