Flower Mound 12u Last Weekend DBAT goes undefeated.

1st place ---------- DBAT
2nd Place ---------Boombah
3rd Place --------- Mizuno / Lady Chaos

Dbat took first place undefeated the whole tournament. Boombah took second place only losing to Dbat. Boombah is the new name for the former Down N Dirty, they ended up with about half of the 98 Tomboys when they split up last year. Mizuno and Lady Chaos tied for third.

There was a lot said about the second place win by Boombah. Mizuno parents were griping saying that this was the way the pool was setup. I did get to watch a game between Bat Attitude and Boombah, they both played one of the better games I have watched in some time. I think with a little work, Boombah is going to be one of the teams to beat in time. It was pretty much a given that DBAT was going to walk away with this one. Great Tournament overall.

I am in no way affiliated with Mizuno98 but they are in essense the same team my daughter played against last year in 10U when they were Shadows98 and the parents and coaching staff showed nothing but class.

I can't figure out if you're a Boombah parent gloating or a Mizuno parent whining but there should be no issue with how the bracket ended up. BoomBah had the 2nd best record so therefore they should not had to have met Dbat until the championship game.

Dbat was head and shoulders above everyone else and for that I congratulate them. Boombah is off to a good start but have a long ways to go to be considered upper echelon.

Congrats to all of the teams though. It's nice to actually play 2 days of ball.

Sorry not whining or gloating. My DD plays for neither team, but I did stay to watch the championship game and heard some of the chatter. It was just being said before the final game that the real championship game was already played by Mizuno and Dbat. I totally agree with you Boombah has a ways to go but they are much better than the old Down n Dirty, they were nothing more than a joke. Final game was 0-0 until the third inning, then Dbat started walking away with it for a 5-0 win. So again you are correct they were way ahead of all the other competition. Cheers!

I agree with you in regards to Boombah, they are a totally different team compared to last year's and picking up some core players should do nothing but make them better. I can understand why Mizuno would say that the championship was in the first round but the fact of the matter is had they should be mad for losing to BB Rhine. I like the pool play but would prefer to see a double elim bracket but I know time-wise it would be tough.

I guess this is why we play the game though. The best team(s) don't always make it to the final game.

I too stayed to watch the Championship game or according to most, D-Bats stomping of Boombah. It looked to me that Boombah couldn't put the ball in play and a couple crucial errors but no real stomping. I heard the talk that the "champioship game" was already played by Mizuno & D-Bat, but I agree that what Mizuno should be asking is why did we lose to BB Rhine??! The better team won that day and it was definitely D-Bat. Team Boombah has posted some wins in 12U but the question is against who?

No it was not a stomping. Boombah had several good hits, but they were cought by the Dbat outfield. Boombah Defense looked pretty good the first two, and then like you said a few crucial mistakes later the score was 5-0 with Dbat winning it. As you said the better team won. Not too many would argue that. I would have liked to see Mizuno and Boombah play. That would have been a little more interesting. Oh well it is good to see more competition developing out on the field, makes those long weekends much more fun........

I am still trying to figure out why "softball4all" would create an account and make this thread their first post...if they are not affiliated with DBat. What's the point?

Of course Dbat went undefeated...look at their pool...They did not have an 8 am game either day (even though they are from Flower Mound); they played 2 games Friday night against 1st year teams, played 2 games Saturday (1 against a first year team). Meanwhile every team in Mizuno's pool played 4 games Saturday and each team in that pool had 8 am starts Sat and Sunday. Even so, Mizuno escaped that pool with only one loss to BB Rhine.

The prior tournament in Keller, Dbat gave up 19 runs total and even played Mizuno to a 3-3 tie.

Dbat is good but they were set up perfectly to glide into the final with plenty of rest. So...I wouldn't go all hog wild about them going udefeated. Just saying.

Because hes a D-Batter, busted!hehe..Really are we going to keep talking about how Mizuno was plotted against and how they can hang with D-Bat? Who cares, they lost and tied for 3rd. Lucky they even got that. Looking at VTD they only scored 22 runs in pool. Several teams scored waay more and could handle Mizuno, ask BB Rhine. Ya I get it, the big 1st baseman can hit the ball a mile but the rest of the team is just ok offensively. So get to the cages and quit whinning about what could have been.

My DD plays for Boombah and we had a good tournament. I agree that the championship game we should have done alot better. We were hitting the ball but just couldn't find the holes like D-Bat, and some defensive errors as well. But thats ball and D-Bat won fair & square. But to clarify some things, are team is not made up of half the Tomboys. There are just 3 out of our 11 player roster. We are a pure 98 team and saying that we were a joke last year, well I guess we had the last laugh in Flower Mound. Our girls work hard and are only getting better, just look at our progression on VTD. Better yet come and see us play in Southlake and get you some!

boombah rookie...I would say you got real lucky this past weekend as well. The bat influence team you played on Sunday in the first bracket game was less 2 key players that were present Saturday. You played the "bat influence lite" team on Sunday. Bat Influence beat both force and bb on Saturday. Boombah is getting better. The only thing i have heard about boombah players is watch out for the catcher, according to my DD, her mouth rivals that of a canadian trucker that has run out of labatt and jerky. Keep working hard and we'll see you in Southlake.
