Here are the teams that will go 5-0-0 in pool.

Pool A - Phantomz (Sting will be the only interesting game)
Pool B - Bombers (This pool is a waste of their time)
Pool C - Houston Power (Maybe HV will give them a game. Maybe)
Pool D - Sudden Impact (This pool is a waste of time)

I agree it would have been more interesting to have those 4 in one pool, but then you have the issue of only one of these teams getting to championship - potentially none as they would beat up on each other and probably all loose at least one game leaving the other teams in weak pools with no losses.

My question is how are you going to decide who are the top two teams if all the top teams in the pools go 5-0. I think I read they are only taking top two teams to a championship game??? Or did I misread and it is the top 2 from each pool? Can someone clarify?

Rules are 65 minute pools/finish the inning.

Top 2 teams from EACH POOL advance to a single elimination bracket.

Wrong. The rules that I received was 65 minute pools drop dead. After questioning the TD, he sent out revised rules that state 65 minute finish the batter. I still do not know what the rules are for the bracket games. Strange to me how you seed two teams into a bracket using drop dead or finish the batter. Somebody is gonna be ticked off if they do not get their chance to bat and they are behind.

On another note, I have heard of teams playing up but never seen a tournament that allows teams to play down with 12U teams that is listed as 14U?? Not saying that we won't get bounced around, even with our two gold players that are playing with us on a regular basis when it doesn't interfere with their Gold team (or the 7th grade pitcher, #27, that we have, funny how I never hear anything about that, only about the "Gold" players), by some of these really good 12U teams.

Good Luck and see you on Sunday!! I hope..

Mark..you are correct, the rules state finish the batter. That will definitely have an effect on some of the outcomes.

I have to laugh when 14 year old girls who play in a few 18u tournaments are then labeled as "Gold" players . What defines a "gold" team or "gold" players nowadays ? If an 18u team says they are "gold" does that make it so ? If so , I have seen many "gold" teams that could be beaten by some of the 14U teams in this weekends tournament . And at what point does a player become "gold"? After one tournament with a "gold" team ? two ? three ? a season ? If I'm not mistaken the girls in question here are in eighth grade . They are good softball players . But I have seen the Phantomz play a few times the last couple of years without them and they always seem to be in the thick of it .

I guess we will see this weekend, but seems to be a big lack of respect for the 12u's in this one ! I hope the 14u's can hold up to the predictions. No doubt some good 14u's in this one, but I would be a bit careful of some of these 12u's as well. In most of these 12u teams we are only talking about a year difference in age's, if that !

Just saying ???

With the coin flip possibly giving the 12U's an extra at bat it could help, because they will need it against the Top 14U's :o :o

Just saying ;)

Could someone list who is 12U and who is 14U please?

That way we will know what we are up against and don't get blindsided!!
