Who me?

Yes...sometimes I'm miserable. But then...I go fishing on HB for Jemima...and he always bites. Then all's right with the world.

...'preciate it Jemima

So Ken or Matt whichever one of you Southlake boys. I don't know who you think I am but Danny would not be my name. Guess again. Glad I got you thinking though.

Everyone wants to jump on GG. I personally have no opinion either way. don't know him so I won't say. But I do know that there is someone who is over him. Maybe that person should be shouldering some of the blame with whatever they have done to pi$$ you off!

Let me state again I have no preference over VTD or ASA except when it comes to championship play. I have an older dd and a younger DD. My older is playing predominately ASA that is the way of the country and where she will get the most looks. We are looking at Premier also. The younger is playing VTD and ASA.

I have found that although you have made a personal crusade against ASA the TD's and Associations running ASA tournament are no better and no worse than those running VTD.I have to agree with "Men" that the main reason VTD has had success in DFW is clearly based on the website. It is user friendly and what everyone has been used to the last few years.
However, once getting registered ASA I have had no problems signing up and playing ASA tournaments. The registration process was tedious and complex but I asked for help from a local and they helped me out.
My main problem with you "Joe" is that you continue to beat down on an organization that is here for young girls to play and fall in love with the game of softball. I am talking REC! Remember where most of our girls started playing ball and learned the game. Where both my DDs fell in love with the game. That is my problem. The softball world begins in REC and is where the future lies for the game. Whithout it we do not expose new players to the game. It is time for you to be happy with your VTD and quit bashing ASA. Let teams play where they want.

500 miles from its main membership/population areas??? According to Google Maps, here are the distances from the "main membership/population areas" to Midland:

SA - 317
Austin - 333
Dallas - 335
Houston - 524

YES, again I admit this is a LONG way for everybody to travel to play in this tournament. But, despite my huge ego, I also do not believe that the center of the softball universe resides in Dallas, and unlike you who obviously believes it resides in Houston, or unlike my good friend Joe who believes it resides in Tarrant County. According to Google Maps, it is 240 miles from Dallas to Houston. By my math that is about 100 miles difference, not exactly a whole lot of difference when talking about that many miles.

Also, if you are referring to PGF when you mention "losing teams to another national organization," I am right there with you. However, if you are buying into the kool-aid Joe is trying to sell about VTD, then I must laugh at that comment. VTD is not a national softball organization, it is merely a team registration and insurance needs website, that also hosts tournaments in Tarrant County. And for the record, kicks the dog mess, for the most part, out of ASA when it comes to hosting tournaments in Tarrant County. It is geared towards the masses in DFW ONLY. It does not have a foothold with the upper tier teams however, because those teams are going to play ASA, HOF, and PGF qualifying tournaments. They are not the masses, they are THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE ELITE. :P

Yep, Houston is home for us but no, I do not believe it is the center of the softball universe. It's just the fourth largest city in the country, followed by San Antonio at #7 and Dallas at #8 (please reference the 2008 US census). So for the convenience of the softball playing public in Texas, I would think that a national organization would place its qualifying tournaments somewhere close to one of these three cities. That's all, that's it, my only point.

ALL of them? What team did you say you were with Hotbox? Your 12U team might have had a good game or two, maybe even a good weekend, but now you are starting to sound like Mark. Love ya Mark! Hotbox, you may have played a good team and you may have beaten a good team but you have not played with ALL the big dogs in H Town and your team won't beat the Bombers or Phantomz again so until you are playing against and competing with ALL the 14's you need to tone it down.
