14U HOF Qualifier - Midland

by soreshins » Fri May 14, 2010 7:37 am

The level of participation was not high at the HOF Qualifier that Midland hosted in 2007. They had to get 8 or 10 local teams to fill out the bracket.

Obviously, the drive from Houston is brutal. Because school is still in session you have drive home on Sunday night. I have made the 8 hour drive in the dark and would recommend against it.

I drove the 8 + hours and meet Freddie , he walked me around park and told me about the fields. After he walked off wandered over to the field we play on again, and the cat painting lines asked where we were from and wished us good luck. Very friendly, seems like a great facility. It is a long way from houston, or dallas for that matter. The rain didn't help all games postponed for tonight. tornado on runway at airport. Half our team in Elpaso! don't think those girls will fly again.

men talljie aunt wrote:Where are ya Houston? Sure has been quiet. Guess you have no response when you get called out for a reason. Not much of a leg to stand on when you only send 2 teams. Perhaps recent tournament results in your neck of the woods combined with your poor showing at Nationals last summer has taken some of the bite out of your bark. Just find it amusing to compare this year to last year's HOF qualifier. Leading up to that tournament last year, HB was exploding with post after post of smack talk from you guys.

For the record, here are my picks:

I would not want to be part of the Bombers or Diamonds - both of those teams got screwed from the standpoint of having to play each other in the very first game of the tournament. A good team is going to the losers bracket right off the bat. Same thing happened last year in SA when Thunder and Fusion played in their first game of the bracket.

Game 25 - Fusion vs DBat
Game 26 - Peppers vs Kruzers

Game 27 - Elite Bancroft vs Glory Poole
Game 28 - Bombers vs Diamonds

Game 29 - Glory Poole vs Fusion
Game 30 - Diamonds vs Peppers

Game 31 - DBat vs Kruzers

Game 32 - Fusion vs Peppers

Game 33 - Fusion vs DBat

Game 34 - Kruzers vs Fusion

Top 5 in order:

1. Kruzers
2. Fusion
3. DBat
4. Peppers
5. Glory Poole
5. Diamonds

Men talle hoe
The houston teams finshed with 3 in top 20 last year 12's?????? The Fury / Peppers played all california /arizona teams, no sucess?I give the lite and peppers props for staying committed to ASA and compitition. And yes #10 for the Furpers no hit the fusion twice before nationals. too bad they did not get to meet in illinois.

Have you seen Jemima roaming around? He's the one with the t-shirt that says, "I pick up soap bars for ASA".

So obviously picking up the Phantomz pitcher helped out the Peppers! Just wonder how her team feels about that.... aren't they going USFA??
