How would you approach this?

Daughter's HS softball team is doing pretty well. she's just a sophomore, she's slight of build, but has a little pop, speed and hits lefty and throws right.
She is leading her HS team in hitting (mostly as DP for the past 17 games or so) .419, leads them with stolen bases (8)...all through 24 games total.
Her onbase percentage is tops on the team as well. She is sixth on team in runs and seventh in RBI despite only getting half as many as at-bats as girls that play the field.
That is the rub....she isn't playing in the field. Another soph, who is a bit bigger, stronger arm, but hasn't made any outstanding plays herself out there, is starter. She has been switched around to lefty this year and struggling with bat, my daughter has been hitting lefty since seventh grade. We have another first baseman who is struggling to hit .190....
Hasn't my daughter earned a shot at a full-time spot and coach could DP the other soph for the 1B? she's complaining about not getting to bat much as daughter has been hitting for her. 1B is a senior though!
coach has already said the soph playing in the OF will move to IF next year and my daughter will take the OF spot...why not play now?

Tell your DD to suck it up and keep working hard. Its HS....she just needs to keep sharp for her upcoming travel season.

Welcome to to high school ball . . . go read the Countdown Post by Donnie S. Seen the dumbest stuff in H.S. ball, but it's the only time your DD will have 200 of her closests friends and family dress in the same color to come watch her play, have her named called before every game as a starter, get to go the plate with a theme song, practice two hours a day every day of the week, etc. Don't forget that when she is a senior some freshman's parents will be questioning why their 18u Gold starter isn't playing ahead of your kid.

Did I mention to anyone that HS is crappy...really crappy Unless of course you win state...and get that Big ring.

If your DD is unhappy, have her talk to the coach. If it is you that is unhappy, suck it up dad, she is a big girl.

Rat poison is for those psycho (I literally mean that) cheerleading parents.

Us TX softball folks, just prefer the f-word.
"Hey coach, you're a f'in idiot"
"Get your f'in ass over here, boy"
"F'in daddy ball/high school coaches who don't know sh!!, etc., etc."

Or the latest I heard a couple of weeks ago as the kid was being pulled off the field, DURING our turn in the field, from a MOM:
"She's not playing for you, you mother f'er."

It actually scared me at first. Now it's funny.
