10U NRGSL Tournament

by lpoolone » Wed Jun 09, 2010 7:17 am

Have a question to pose to the "panel" because my daughter can't get an answer. She plays 12U but has a few friends in 10U so she went to watch them play the NRGSL tournament. Despite her young age she is real adept to understanding how pool and bracket play works. In this tournement the top-4 from pool play went to bracket play but there were only 3 pools so it appears that they took a wild card team and that appeared to be BB99 (Franco). They went a respectable 3-2 in pool play but FM Phoenix and 99Superchicks went 4-1.

How did BB99 make it to bracket play as a wild card over the 2 teams with better records?

Disclaimer: We don't know any players on any of the above mentioned teams; my daughters friends team made it to bracket play but she doesn't play on BB99.

Obviously, the NRH folks appreciate the nose of "said team" up and between the cheeks of dufus Darren. The other possibility is that they can't count...

It's interesting you would ask me that question because my reply to your question was, "Why didn't I post this on the VTD message board"? I was hoping for quick answer from the HB members and in no way am I trying to stir up trouble. With so many of these tourneys going to a "pool play to seed bracket play", I was curious how they did it here. There are so many people that have an answer I thought I'd get a quick one as opposed to sending VTD a message and waiting a day or so for a reply.

Thanks for the note though.

I don't think you are trying to stir up anything. I was just curious since it was a VTD tournament. I thought you might get an answer there quicker.
It doesn seem strange how that team got in but I would think there had to be a reason. I am curious to the answere also.

I believe they somehow got the Force vrs BB score flipped. It is posted as 10-0, However Force did not win. BB won. So BB was 4-1 also, with less runs scored against them. -10 :D
Forgive me if im wrong. Congrats to DBAT-SOX

Makes sense! Knew there had to be a reason.

I would have to say that the "power of HB" is really showing now because the pool results have been changed since this initial discussion took place because it now shows BB99 beating Force by the score of 10-0. It was not that way earlier so it appears that someone at VTD was aware of our conversation. Kudos to them for correcting the error so quicky thusly ensuring your constituents are able to keep faith in your product.
