texas thunder 12u?

by softballrocks » Tue Jun 15, 2010 8:11 pm

They have only been together for three weeks. Two practices and three tournaments, still trying to feel their way. They did go 6-2 in Beaumont in B and the lack of "together time" justifies going B. Time will tell but there is some talent that was assembled quickly.

Congratulations to Texas Thunder 12u (Houston) on their 7th place finish at USFA State this weekend. Not a bad finish for a group of girls who have had only a few practices together and this being your 3rd tournament together. Glad to have my daughter be part of a team that has great coaches as well as parent support. You girls have great attitudes and are a great group of girls who have talent as well as love for the game. Thanks for making us part of the team and part of your family. Can't wait to see you play in PCB.

Nothing like one of the coaches wives or parents posting how great they are.....if they were that good people would give them props....not the wives of the coaches and parents.and I heard "A" was what they wanted to be so why are they playing "B" ??? Just curious, they can do what they want but this entire thread sounds like it was started by them....I have never even seen them play but then again ASA doesnt let year around teams play "B"

and let me clarify I wish the girls on the team all the best.....but do not agree with coaches and parents talking up a team...let their play do the talking, they are playing for the right reason's I am sure...the love of the game, but most of the time it is the parents that ruin it for the girls....and in the end the girls are the ones that get the rep. as team jumpers and such so sit back and enjoy it they won't be 12 forever.

They are a very athletic looking team, I would say they lack a strong bracket pitcher. I know they used one of the Panthers 98 pitchers but I don't know how she did. As for playing B I think there were quite a few teams that should have played A and chose to play B; for just coming together I would say playing B was the right choice for them.

Is she going to PCB with them? If not, they'll probably be struggling for a pitcher in which case, A, B or C nationals is tough.

Good luck to them either way.

I don't know. I know the Panthers are only playing ASA, maybe Thunder Mom can enlighten us to how much she brought to the team.

i have seen this team in conroe... mixed bunch of girls.. not to mention parents. heard they were a new formed team, never seen the coaches before which doesnt mean anything but maybe they havent coached before, or they are dads. they did not play very well, could be becuase they are new but pitching was very average. i have seen some of the girls on that team on another team just this summer. ironic.most definitly a "B" team.
