Stockton Metro Results

by rbi » Sun Jun 20, 2010 3:30 pm

It was an all GRAPETTE show in Stocktown, as the 10s,12s,14's,16's and 18's all won their age group's and qualified for Nationals..

All Sarah can do is play who is put in front of them, she cant control the other 100 12U teams in her metro that decided not to play. Hats off to the Crush who were clearly outmatched for showing up at least and giving it all they had. Sure it would have been nice to have a 20 team metro in 12's but, you cant blame Sarah or the Grapes for that not happening...

Sarah does a good job with the talent she is given each year, a couple years ago she took a team and placed 2nd at HOF and 3rd at ASA Nationals (when is last time a local team did that), so regardless of who shows up in our little metro each year, when it comes time to play her teams do just fine..

My question would be has the IFA taken all the good teams from ASA. Where were the R&R Gold teams they had 2 good teams. Or was the early filing date the reason several team didn't enter? :o

Just to let you know that SMASH not the crush were NOT OVERMATCHED and i will repeat not overmatched...and i pretty sure the grapes no that..so u can keep your hat..no excuses they beat us....but the 2nd game was 11-8...a few brakes and we were on to game 3...I know how everyone loves the grapes on here...great organization...great players i see why...but Smash is no ones doormat...they can play with anybody..I see all these ratings on here and i think wow all these teams are good but there is not one dominite team out there..look at all these tournaments lately u have a different winner in all of them..and to let u all know when smash has there heads on stright they can play with anybody out there...and to all the smash players and coaches i would like to give a big thumbs up for even playing in the metro...with what u all were going thru we are all so proud of you all...thanks to the coaches for showing the girls that softball is not the most important thing in there life..And smash is for real and mabey they havent giving people alot of reasons yet but i will tell you to keep an eye on them they are going to surprise alot of people here on out..

Surprise was on you then cuz that 2nd game was by far, one of the WORST performances Grapes have played this season, ask 'em & the'll admit it... Pitcher that game hadn't thrown much in 2 weeks due to an injury, and it showed; stats on the books before and since are proof enough. 2nds all through the lineup... I could go on, yet they STILL sent you packin' after game 2...
