You are either Metro Champs or State Champs but not both. They are 2 different tournaments and you can't play both according to ASA Rule.

Sorry Tom, but you are 10U Metro Champs. The 99 Pearland Phantomz are 10 State Champs.

Congratulations to both of ya'll. I would like to have seen if all the 10U teams from this area had been at one State/Metro tournament who would have come out on top??

Not all the teams where there for Metro and some are not allowed to play in State. TPS can only play in a Metro and not ASA state due to the zoning or what ever it is called. I know Cobras were not there they qualf. in Regionals along with the Texas Bombers 99. Angels are USFA State Champs though! Too bad Angels, Phantomz, Cobras, TPS, Kingwood etc could not all attend one ASA TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. That is why Pearland teams always win State the other team are not allowed to play in it. They have to go through Regionals or Metro. I'm not to sure how the Cobras will do being they lost to the Angels. Their team doesn't seem to be progressing like the rest..............???? Their bats have not improved, the defense it shaky. USFA can be any of these teams to win it especially those that are stacking their teams. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone does it around this time. Girls start jumping to ASA, all I can say is I have seen the Californa team play when my daughter was younger they are on a differant level. Or they usually are. Good luck in that one! And for all the team that are going to ASA way to go! That is a true tournament to go to!

Well I believe ASA advertises it as a state tournament. I agree though the whole thing is silly. we tried to play in the other ASA State and we were not allowed. I hear there is even a Dallas Metro State.

Seems like we could all play in the same state tournament.

Anyhoo...Congrats to the Phantomz!!! I have alot of friends on that team and my DD is friends with several of the girls. They are definately a class act.

Good luck to everyone at the nationals they are attending. The Angels are headed to Panama City. Hope we beat the oil.
