Keep Looking.... Practically 90% of the top players in N TX have played for a Glory team. The other 10% had older sisters that had been-there-done-that or simply well informed parents. They have Great Marketing. I love the mandatory meetings where you are told that its is YOUR responsibility to promote your daughter and tell you to stay on top of your communication with the school of your choice. WELL DUH.
And yes, at any point and time theyll have a standout team. But before you sip that Glory KoolAid, check out some specifics. How much playing time will your DD get on a roster of 20? Oh yes, they might have a fine lineup of D1 and D2 girls but 11 are on the bench this game. But they can get a Fresh one to go into the next game! and lets see, um, 5 pitchers? FIVE?
But hey... Everyone has their own prioroities. If you leave the org, yes, therell be Hell to pay. Smiling to your face but bad mouthing the DD and parents through the grapevine. But it doesnt last. Couple of months later a different Glory coach will be calling saying he has a different flavor, just come try it. "Its not what you know, Its WHO you know" is very true. But I know the girls whose Glory exposure got them riding a bench at college. And others that left for a different school their Sophomore year. I personally think that their 65% playing time left them a little sluggish.
I like Adkins, Naudin, Hart, and Fouch. Good coaches, good practices, decent teams, nice tourney selections-- but again some of those 20player rosters I refuse to deal with. Shelton vs Adkins BLAHBLAHBLAH
Take all of your offers to hit the Showcases this Fall. If youre at a high school with a solid Softball program(which I assume you are) your options will open up as the varsity girls will share their experiences and the parents can clue you in.
For what it is worth, Welcome to Texas Softball.... heh
