Was the "other sitez" an NCAA site?

It was on E-Teamz and to be truthful, I don't remember which rule set was being discussed ... but it would have had to be NCAA ...

Wouldn't this be interferance on the batter? As the OP stated she was in front of the plate. She prevented the ball from crossing the plate. Low pitch or not, the hitter's actions put her in a place she should not be at regardless of intent. What if the ball's path would have crossed the plate for a strike?

It's not "batter interference" as defined by the playing rules.

Whether or not the pitch would have entered the strike zone is up to the umpire's judgment. I would have a hard time judging that a pitch hitting the batter's foot in front of a batter's box could have possibly become a strike. By rule, a pitch that touches the ground before reaching the plate can NEVER be a called strike.

BTW, the OP stated that the pitch hit the batter in front of the batter's box, not in front of the plate. Big difference there!
