by DBLUE » Tue May 27, 2008 11:01 am

Here's the new top ten list for 18 Gold!

If anybody has any input about other age groups, please let everyone know.

Old list from fall: 1. Sorcerers-Phil
2. Sting -Bob
3. Strikezone-Don
4. Sting -Fano
5. Sharks -Barrera
6. RR Gold -Bob
7. Sorcerers -Pete
8. Shockers -
9. Grapettes-Gomes
10. Strikkers -Garcia

New list: 1. Sting -Bob- Overall best team out there, great pitching!
2. Sorcerers-Phil- Great team, good power, good defense!
3. Strikkers -Ernie- ? coming in, no more , incredible speed good D!
4. Grapettes-Dennis- another good team, with good pitching!
5. RR Gold -Bob- All around good team, decent speed and power!
6. Sorcerers-Pete- Good power, and D, Pitching is a little questionable!
7. Sting -Fano- Decent team, but need better pitching to compete!
8. Sharks -Tom- Not sure, heard they are getting some college kids soon!
9. USA Elite - Very good tourney. played well, decent pitching!
10. AASA - Good team,and they'll get better, pitching ??

There are some of the teams in the old top ten that really looked rough this weekend! Unless they get some help soon, they won't be back in the top ten!!

If you are going off the sting/sorcerer game, as the reason for having the sting on top, you might want to look at the line ups that were put on the field. I know for a fact that Phil did not show Bob his strongest line-up where as Bob pitched his best and hit nine. It will be interesting when the game actually means something. ;)

Your right about the lineups. But, it's not like they had a team of twenty out there, and played the whole second team. I saw who was on the field, and I think they were pretty damn good ball players. They didn't seem to figure out how to hit the big lefty. If you can't hit her, you won't beat them. Player for player, they match up very well. So, it'll be a fun summer. There was about 5 teams that stood out over everyone else, and it seemed that they all match up well. Some have better pitching, some hitting, some with great speed and defense. It was some good softball out there this weekend!

In my opinion the best 18G team in Stockton this weekend was the 16U Lady Magic. They only lost to R&R Gold in a game where they did not have all of thier best on the field (Although thier second best players are darn good!). They then manhandled Sting-Fano on the last day. It would have been nice to see thier number1 or number 2 go up against the big lefty from Sting-Perales.

Top to bottom, this is a "team" that you have to see to believe! (Just think what they could do if they had the luxury of adding a college player or two like the Gold teams.)

"They then manhandled Sting-Fano on the last day" ?????

Funny how manhandling a team is a come from behind 2-1 victory in the last inning.
RR Gold thought the Magic were not that good. They are just ok in my opinion.

Lady Magic! Great team, but look at who you played this weekend there!!! Your bracket didn't exactly have the best competition around. The RR gold team you faced is a 16 and under, and a good win over Sting 2. But the rest of your competition is nothing to brag about! Anybody else see much of Sting 2? Maybe they should be bumped from top ten.
