SAC 16U rankings

by 16U FAN » Fri Oct 01, 2010 12:32 pm

Still very early and I have seen a few teams play and really don't know if all teams are back this Fall.

1. Foothill Gold- Could this be the year they go to the top? Look very strong. Superior pitching, speed and coaching. Huge favorites this year and odds on to win everything they play in.
2. Mizuno AA- Great coaching and a lot of returning players.
3. Breeze- This team could move up with better pitching and playing together.
4. Lady Magic- Young for the most part but picked up some good veteran players. Will only get better.
5. Grapettes DH- Good team but not enough this Fall. Will be interresting to see how many players know about this Sacramento based team.

Haven't heard or seen such quality teams (in the past) such as Rapids, Comets, Heat or any others I may have missed. More after this weekend.

It is really Foothill Gold's to lose. No other team comes close to experience, players and coaches. This summer looks great for the Gold.

Stockton will be a race between Grapettes KO, AASA and the suprising USA Elite Cherry.

Until next week......

Please tell me this team's name is based on the last name of a coach attached to the end.
It's astounding, time is fleeting.
Madness takes its toll.

Our OBS Monarchs (Last years Grapettes CR) team will play a part in that age group..... I think;)

A couple of changes:

CA Rapids should be the 4th ranked team in Sacramento.

The OBS Monarchs will cruise in the Stockton Area ( I forgot about them). They should also be a Nationals team in the Summer along with the Foothill Gold, though the Monarchs are a lot better at this point.

USA Elite is coached by Brian Cherry.

Thanks for the input, I will try and stay up to date.

Wow, Foothill gold? I doubt that. To many teams missing on this list. USA - Cherry? Uh when they play somebody worthy, you let me know. Sorry for the bashing but I've been up and down this division as well, and I dont see it. Mizuno AA ? That team is NOT that great and the good ones moved to 18 gold with Gabe. If were talking in Sac only, you have to go with Lady Magic right now. They have one loss...ran all over Grapettes- DH (he is out of stockton by the way) and are much stronger and look to have their sh*t together now. Looks like they added a pitcher and a couple of bats to that line up. No mention of TNT who has 2 losses and did well at 14s at sac metros and finished top 20 I believe at westerns. In bay area you cant forget kg hitters, sorcerers, sj sting-perales. Just a lot of missing teams. CA rapids arent even in the picture right now. OBS Monarchs will definately play a role. Valley stompers doing well too. Just to many teams missing. AASA is always tough especially if their bats awake on you, could get ugly real quick. Next year probably one of the strongest years at 16s and one of the weakest at 14s as most of the 96s moved up. Should be interested for sure. I guess I will have to see foothill gold play someone and get a good measure. Just not sold on that idea. Older Breeze teams are getting weaker , not better. They definately have some issues over there.

Just saw CA rapids 4th? OH my.....ok seriously, credibility is gone with me. The same team that got demolished by Lady Magic in a scrimmage. My friend has a kid on the 18gold team, and said it was ugly. Come on really? Maybe post some reasoning behind your rankings, cause my head is spinning. I am at the fields nearly every weekend between 14s-18s.

watchtonsofsoftball`s credibility is shot. Go back and read his posts and you`ll see he claims he has no ties to anyone yet will always sing the praises of Lady Magic. You`re a Lady Magic guy just admit it. Nothing wrong with that. Just don`t lie and claim neutrality, it ruins your cred. Gonna be some big changes coming in the Spring/Summer for 16`s and it aint gonna be good for LM. Trust me folks, you`ll see. News should travel when tryouts come in November/December. Good luck to everybody, and stay healthy girls!

#1 fan, 16u Fan....same guy?
Im not a Lady Magic honk by any means. The fact is, that 16u ranking is garbage. I brought up Lady Magic and TNT since they are doing WAY better than the teams mentioned before them (TNT not mentioned at all). I'm quite sure most people would agree with me. Is Lady Magic the best in 16U from Sac? Not yet , surely. In fall they are probably off to the best start. However, I specifically went out to see Mizuno AA yesterday to see this team up close...and guess what? I was right again! Mizuno AA lost to NC Smackers (below par), RR Gold, tied TC smash, lost to a 14u SJ Sting team. OK, and they are #2 in sacramento? I stand by my original words in that post, somebody needs to do their homework. My only complaint was that teams were missing and no credit was given to teams actually doing well. While I was watching Mizuno AA , took a look at Magic 16s again, and they had won all their games yesterday and at last update were winning today. So another 5-0 weekend and Im biased? Just calling wins how I see them. IF the Magic starts losing to NC Smackers, RR Gold, 14U sting teams, then I will blast them too if you put them number 1 or 2.

On a side note..whatever changes you speak of at 16u for spring/summer I am not interested in ,especially if it only pertains to LM. If its about the division as a whole, awesome, im interested in hearing. If not, I could care less.
