In reference to them being formed only two years ago, I have to disagree. My daughter played them in 12U for a season and then in 14U for atleast 2 seasons. They are legal so it should not matter, it was just a statement.

AF website says founded January 2006.

AF is a decent team at best. I didn't say great or good just decent. Who cares if they beat Fusion twice this year or went to nationals back to back years or the two page posts about being sponsored by Dbat. They are a decent team that people love to hate because of the loud mouth coaching.

Talk about getting no respect. Who else has beat Fusion (Mork/Sidwell) twice this season?

Besides winning the HOF Qualifier what has the Fusion (Mork) team accomplished. Although, that was a great tournament and solid weekend by their girls I still don't see this teaming being any stronger than some of the others around, I personally wouldn't measure my overall teams success or respect by what they do against this one team in a few games. They just like most other teams this year just haven't performed at a consistent level all Spring. Fusion (Mork) is one of many very talented teams in the Metroplex.

I would agree, AF is a team to be reckoned with. On any given weekend they have the talent to win. From what I see they have 2 solid pitchers, good defense, and like the other top teams around when their bats are going they can beat anyone.

It all goes back to playing at a high level consistently. JMO

Fusion (Mork) wins the HOF Qualifier in its first season . . . AF qualifies for two ASA National Championships in their first two seasons . . . and that's still not good enough. If these two teams don't meet your standard of "consistenly performing at a high level" who does? Funny how the two teams with "loud mouth coaches" seem to the be teams you all are talking about. Still ROTFLMAO.

I have begun to think that Lori/Tori is either a player or a parent of a player that has tried out for the top teams in the metroplex and was not asked to join these teams because of the skill level or parent demands. So the only thing this poster can do is bash the teams she did not make it as a player. Lori if your are a player, good luck to you, if you are the parent take a good look at the skill level of your daughter and put her on a team where she can get a lot of play time. The only way to make the top teams in the metroplex is to work your butt off, pay your dues in B ball and when the time is right you will know it. Have a great day and good luck.

After reading everyones posts you can see that opinions are going to vary. In my opinion i think this just has a alot to do with playing "A" ball. From time to time a pitcher or batter can takeover a game, but doesn't happen all the time.
Any given day a 14 yr old girl can make an error or have a bad game and that their can cause another average or decent team to shock or suprise a so called contender. Sometimes the ball doesn't fly your way either. Why is it that others sit and talk about others expectations and accomplishments, everyones out to do the same thing. Just sit back put your dd in the best situation or environment possible and watch her grow and mature as a player instead of trashing others.

I don't think anyone has a problem with the players or quality of this team. They are a solid ball team that competes very well with any of our 14's. If everyone is honest here, they will probably admit it's the arrogance of the coach that has their panty's in wad.

One of our friends has a daughter that was going to try out. It would have been a good move for both sides, but after talking with the coach and his repeated references to his team being "A++" and "only carrying the top players", he decided to take her elsewhere.

He may be arrogant, but IMO, he's doing right by his girls. Exposure and having fun while learning.

...but they have been in 14U for what seems to be 5 years.

We won't see them for long. Remember they are jumping 3 classifications after nationals.

And am I the only one who thinks Lori and Janet are the same people? After reading both of their posts on HB and VTD, I think she's talking to herself.

Travel Ball, no one said anything about two loud mouth coaches just one. Like I said in the previous post [my opinion] AF is a decent team that can compete in most 14u tournaments, but if you talk to the arrogant coach about his A++++ team, you would think they could win 18 gold nationals. I would say their chance of a three peat to nationals is slim and none, unless they fly to Maine or Rhode Island or somewhere there's not much softball. But who knows, mr. bigbucks just might fly them up there.

I just get personal satisfaction when these loud mouth coaches get mud on their faces. The American Freedom coach talks and talks and talks and talks about how dominant they are, yet they can't seem to get better than 5th place in their own age division. Go ahead and play up in 16u right now if you want American Freedom...but a placing really means nothing there...look at the 16u tourneys and tell me who is in them......14u teams, alot of them "B", true 16U "B" teams, and maybe a couple elite 14 u Teams.....guess who places...the 14U "A" teams!!

I have seen a couple 16u tourneys this year, and the true competitive 16u teams playing in them won, and are no longer playing 16u..they are being forced to play 18u to see a real tournament!!

I just bring up this 16u point in case American Freedom decided to play some 16u and win...whoopeee...means nothing these days!!

Enter an 18u "A" tourney American, a true 18u, not a watered down tourney with 14u and 16u "B" teams, but a true 18u tourney, and see if you don't go "4 and out"!!
