Uniform - shorts or pants

What's on your mind?

I'm still trying to find out why some of the older teams pick "white" pants to wear! That is just wrong all around!!!

our girls really like the pants now, they noticed how they look better and would not want to change. We don't even have shorts to give them a choice.

When DD played, the girls wore the pants so dang tight that I can see why some girls wouldn't like the way they look in them.

Of course it makes more sense to wear long pants in a hot humid hell hole locale the first week of August. Pants are much cooler. This is why we all wear pants to the beach.

Go to any LA area beach on a summer weekend and you'll find that at least 50% of the people there DO wear pants to the beach.

Baseball coaches moving over to FP? hehehe

Actually, think about what people wear who are exposed to the hot, hot sun all day. If you look at the middle east, bedouins have always completely covered their bodies with cotton cloth, light in color. It has worked for them, so I'm thinking long pants if not too tight work in hot weather as well.

Sliders under shorts are just as hot as pants, maybe moreso. Both my DD prefer long pants. One wears sliders under, the other doesn't.

As to Team USA, either ISF or Olympic (can't remember which... or both ) regulations require them to wear shorts in international competitions, so I guess they simply wear them all the time and don't change back and forth.

I believe it was Oklahoma that wore short pants in the Super Regional.

My DD used to prefer shorts, but now she prefers pants. I'm not sure why, other than she is a 13 year old girl, what else do you need to say.

She doesn't have to worry about strawberries if she slides in shorts, though, she doesn't dig her leg into the infield when she slides (like her old man has a tendency to do in his slow pitch league :| )

It was ULL in the CWS that wore shorts. DD was the first one to point it out, and how funny it looked.

My daughter's # 1 complaint about wearing softball shorts in the summer...you get the funny looking tan...just a brown stripe around the mid-thigh area that is left exposed between the shorts and knee-pads.
