Drop dead rule question

In a 'drop dead' game, does the score revert to the last completed inning when the 'time' is called?

Saw this at a friendly... host team (visitor) trails by 1, they just got the other side out, the home team is warming up between innings and the plate ump announces "There's only a couple of minutes left, we'll give them a couple batters and see what develops."

Huh?

So the first two batters reach 2nd and 3rd, PU allows play to continue, run scores on squeeze play and he then calls "Time! Game over!"

Now it's only a friendly so who cares, really? Well, it turns out a lot of coaches do.

Wondering what the 'rule' would be, and how important you all think the score is in friendlies?

Yes the score reverts back to the last completed inning. If home team does not get their enite last bat the score reverts back.

Home team up bases loaded no outs 3-0 count time runs out, what ever the score was in the prior inning is the final score of the game

In Tournament Pool Play games? Now, that sucks!!

yes in tournaments. This is mostly GSA, USFA, not sure of ISA.

It doesnt really matter. The brackets are already made up and you know when and who you are playing before you show up for the 1st game. The pool game is just a warm up game and most teams will throw their #2 or #3

Depends who you are talking to and what the score is

The ASA should clarify the drop dead rule...you can run into a dozen different scenarios....to revert back or not...when does time actually start...added time for injury or protest...do you allow a batter to complete her AB or call the game at the moment the clock hits 0.00 . If the clock hits zero and the ball is in flight with the tying run rounding 3rd what is the call....and is the call on field 1 the same as the call on field 4. Some of this is covered in the tourn rules,but some of this is blue by blue.

Score would always revert back in friendlies? Friendlies don't count for anything except practice time in game situations, who cares? Don't take it so seriously, it's just a friendly. This actually happened to us yesterday too in a game to "our" advantage and I made sure to tell all my girls after the game that I was proud they were able to execute 3 great bunts in a row and get that run across......it doesn't matter. It really didn't make a difference anyways as most of the thought that we were down by 2 instead of 1 anyways.....MOTIVATION.....Take the confidence they just earned and bring it to your next game!!

In tournaments it reverts back. In friendlys if our team gets beat or wins in the last inning & it's drop dead we consider it a loss. Thats just our little 10u team.

I think all PU should have a timer clipped on the fence. Leaves no doubt in either coaches mind, how long is left. Bonus if it has an alarm.
