NTX vs. STX vs. The World 12U

by 2good » Thu Feb 10, 2011 11:07 am

In NTX the 2 best teams are Glory 98 Allen and also Glory 98 Kyser. Kyser can be inconsistent as they have roster changes frequent. Fusion is over rated. Many average teams in NTX beat them. Allen is the team in NTX as they are solid in every position and with the additon of a new pitcher they have the best pitching duo in NTX.

Good topic going on.

I am sure there are some dark horses up in north Texas that none of us down here know about. It will be good for all of us to see each other this year at the qualifiers. A true state championship tournament would be sweet.

It sounds like there are already a lot of Texas teams planning on attending ASA this year. Looking at the results from last year, you need to play perfectly to win it. I think everyone needs to ask themselves if they don’t win it, what results would be satisfactory.

1st ORANGE COUNTY BATBUSTERS (RAY) Orange County, CA 7-0
2nd 97 GEORGIA IMPACT Atlanta, GA 8-2
3rd TEAM ANDERSON 97 SOTA Cypress, CA 5-2
4th TEAM ARIZONA Glendale, AZ 9-2
5th SAN DIEGO AZTECS San Diego, CA 5-2
5th VICTORY USA Cypress., CA 4-2
7th TEAM MIZUNO Nashville, TN 5-2
7th TEXAS RED HOTS Baytown,TX 4-2 :D
9th CALIFORNIA CRUISERS Orange County, CA 5-2
9th AMERICAN PASTIME Ontario, CA 5-2
9th CORONA ANGELS xx, CA 3-2
9th TEXAS GLORY Rockwall, TX 6-2 :D

You are right they are overrated. They do get beat by average '97 and '96 teams although they are a '98 team, you should check their track record though I might be wrong they might have beat a good 14U team here and there. And from what I gather they beat Glory 98 Allen 2 out of the last 3 BRACKET games and they have done the same thing to Glory Kyser besting them 2 out of the last three BRACKET games. I might be wrong...

But that's something we need to change here, bashing each other. Instead of bashing each other we need to be playing each other just like grey says. Playing the toughest teams to get better. Instead of hitting the boards with negativity we need to hit the dirt more improving and trying to catch up to Cali.

I have the utmost respect for Allen and Kyser they are great coaches and have great teams with a bunch of talented girls. I'm glad my daughter's coach continues to push the team against the best teams around, that does include Houston. We need to continue to find a middle ground to make it easier to meet Houston more often. The ultimate goal is to represent Texas in ASA Nationals and the only way to represent is to continue to play the best competition.

The fusion is also getting beat by 98 teams. In fact just took a quick glance at VTD archives - 98 Pride and 98 Fireballs both decent teams but definetlly not at the top of the list beat the fusion last season. I am not putting them down as they are a good team but the post is about the best and fusion is defintelly no one close to the top 2 to 3. There is obviouslly a parent involved because every time this topic comes up it states fusion - good advertisement - but this post should be factual. If you really look at the archives fusion has never beaten the allen team. There claim to fame is 1 win over Kyser which is great but does not put you at the top. I agree there has to be a better way to allow all teams from the south/north to play each other. It would be fun to see how Allen teams compete as they are clearly #1 in the North. My DD doesnot play for Allen and I have no ties to the team just been around the game for a long time to know this team is the top.

Clearly you are D-Bat parent but there's nothing wrong with that. I have seen some of the Fusion and Glory Allen parents hang out so I'm sure they get along. Fusion beat Glory Allen and Glory Kyser at the Mesquite tournament a while back and then lost to Glory Allen at the Flower Mound tournament. They also lost to Glory Kyser at Southern Nationals on an epic game 10-9 I believe. Then Fusion beat Glory Allen at Keller and then beat Glory Kyser at the Allen tournament.

Losing to Pride and McKinney Fireballs. Those pretty good teams and I believe they are top of the list here in NTX as good team. They are respectable, you can't win them all. You are right like a previous poster said Allen's team comes to play all the time and yes Glory Allen is the best NTX right now. Nobody has denied including myself. They have a ton of experience, just look at their track record.

The sad thing is just that, that they hardly play each other. They need to play each other more often. That's the only way to get better.

That is all going to change this year as Glory Allen and Fusion are all signed up for all the same VTD tournaments including the HOF qualifier for ASA. Those are going to be great games. I hope I can make it!

The last couple of posts strengthen my feelings for NTX they are too caught up on who beat who. Remember this is a marathon, the STX teams beat up on each other all the time nobody really keeps score we just build on it and go get them next time. There are too many good teams to be totally dominating.

Grey, You are right on with this statement. Top teams in the spring can be bottom teams at the end of the summer. All these top teams have a teflon memory. Any team in any tournment can come out on top. That is 1 of the things that makes STX softball so exciting, competitive, and unpreditable.

Once again, Nationals are the measuring rod for these teams. Lets all strive to get there, then the goal is for a Texas Team to win it !!!!!!!!! Support Texas Softball !!!

We lost some really close games to very good second year teams when we with Smash in Indiana. TPS did well also. Force while unproven on the big stage, I think has tremendous talent. My two cents anyway.

The other 2 teams in the mix, from what I saw at the end of the fall season would be Mizuno (if they can shore up their Defense) and the Pearland Panthers who may very well be the best of the lot. Those kids can bring it. I would put them over Tps, Force, and Smash.

Top 5 From STX -- Panthers, Mizuno, Tps, Smash, and Force. If Power can ever decide on a starting line-up they could be in the mix also. Mr fooI can give us a breakdown on the NTX teams, he appears to be very in tune with those teams talents.

Have not seen the NTX teams play alot but I believe some of them are coming down to STX for some tournments. I know it is going to be an exciting spring and summer to get Texas prepared for the Nationals.

It looked like Power might have come out in the spring and got serious. They might be getting there line up a bit more comfortable under there new coach? They might be a problem for a lot of teams this year. They have some good pieces on that squad?

Newbe ---- as I stated earlier Power can be in the mix all year. They just need to pick 10 to 12 girls and go with it. Their roster has been way to large. The majority of the top clubs usually carry no more than 10 to 12 girls. It helps to keep everyone happy with playing time and keeping the same girls on the field most of the time helps with consistancy of play.
