Well, well I did pretty good.

Pool A: 1. 14U Texas Glory Adkins
2. Centex Buzz
3. H.O.T Rage
4. Texas Trouble
5. BB Bryson
No real surprise there IMO, the strong 97 teams did well. Travers team always looking tough. No 98's and actually was kind of surprised due to the talent that signed up. Waco was well represented.

Pool B: 1. Doom
2. Black Widows
3. McKinney Fireballs 98
4. 98 Vortex
5. 99 D-Bat Mustangs
Although not the strongest field compared to the other, no real surprises other than Reese's new team. Another good showing for 99 Dbat, who continually competes in the 14U tourny's. Streetman's got a good group of girls who will wreak havoc if they ever play 12U. As well as the Fireball 98's who look to have a pretty solid squad.

I don't know. I would say Doom was a surprise. According to their team page on VTD, they haven't placed in a tournament since July of 2009, not counting that VTD Grand Prix thing that accumulated points to determine a placement. They have really improved!!

Black Widows beat 98 Fireballs two times to prove themselves, but lost to Doom two times also.

Don't know if I am buying in to 98 Vortex quite yet.

99 D-Bat Mustangs are for real. Marty's got a special group, even though he associates himself with that Jason guy. Just kiddin' Pitts.

I would like to add that this is the way tournaments should be run. Leave them "OPEN" so all teams with different levels of play can sign up. Then the TD needs to turn that tournament into two and put the "A" level teams together and the "B" level teams on the other. All TD's know who is who. This tournament was set up pretty well with the exception of a team or two on the wrong side. These tournaments put more pressure on the teams to perform well which is what you need if nats is your goal vs. the 6 game guarantee and that is not structured like championship play is. I'm sure there is pros and cons on this as well.

You would probably end up playing some teams over and over but I believe most top teams would prefer that than win games by blowouts. Again top level play will only make your team better and if nationals is your goal then I believe this is the way to go. This will also encourage out of town teams to come play some of the top teams in the area which will mix in different teams you can play. JMHO

Fun tournament with some good softball to watch.

Only issue with D0bat mustang is that they can't take the 97/96 Pu to 12U. They also have 98 players so get rid of the 99 tag  How will the team adjust in 12U with a differerent roster? The 99 team that impresses me more is the 99 Glory Blue - they are very discipline and well coached. Based on what I have seen with them they appear to be all 99. They will perform better in 12U as they will not have to adjust their roster.

Don't think 99 DBat will have any trouble in 12U IMO. Who cares who they pick up in a 14U tourney? When they play 12U, we will see the big picture. Let's not forget, however, they have a 99 pitcher that can throw heat, runs like the wind and knocks the cover off the ball. Probably need some more pitching help to become elite. They also have a big tall first year select player who could develop into a true power hitter once she has a little more seasoning. Losing their incredible catcher probably hurt them, however.

99 Glory Blue added a big lefty pitcher who may be one of the best in the circle when they reach 16U or Gold. 99 GB AKA Kruzers have always played up and are very well coached. You can't take them for granted.

Hey Pitts,
Any room for catcher, she's looks good in DBAT colors.
she might be a little undersized.
