Texas Teams Playing in the Colorado Tourneys

by 93players » Fri Jun 27, 2008 4:38 am

Since the Colorado thread has no posts, let's try to keep up with the Texas teams playing at the Colorado Fireworks, the Colorado Sparkler, and the Louisville Slugger tourney. These tourneys have long been considered a mark of a program trying to make a statement on the national level. Coaches have told me they like to have recruits list these tourneys on their profile because they indicate a commitment to the game. When any kid can quit softball the moment they show up on campus, coaches look for that extra effort to demonstrate a love for the game. Those of us who watch the games should post comments here. Looking forward to the cooler Denver weather.

I am so excited to be going to CO! Cooler weather, no work, and getting to play lots of teams from other states.

Hey Brooke's Dad, is the special cooler making the trip?

You know it is....

We might be bringing two coolers this year - as last year I received an "offer I couldn't refuse" (Thanks GTS)!
When asked how many times she hit Tiger with the golf club, she responded, "I'm not sure...put me down for an 8!

Who you guys picking up with? Didn't see Fusion (Mendez) on either the Fireworks or Sparkler list. Why isn't either Fusion team playing?

3Bsnag doesn't play with Fusion Mendez, they used to and we hated to see them leave, they are very good people. Both Fusion teams are just practicing and playing round robins getting ready for nationals. I'm not speaking for everyone on the team, but I know that all of us can't afford to fly to Colorado for a few days and then a few weeks later go to lovely Midland, Tx for a week. Both Fusion teams, Peppers, and the TX, Hawks are getting together in Waco for scrimmages in a couple weeks.

Just got into Denver and the weather is nice. Last year it was HOT the whole tournament except for the first and last day. This year I have a daughter playing in the Fireworks and one in the Sparkler. It is going to be a great week, win or lose. LIke someone else stated earlier, softball all week, no work, equal a grear week.

Softball and Mountains is a great mix. Who ever thought of this location is a way smarter then me.

Hopefully the college coachs' will come out in packs, like years past so everyone can make a good showing.

If your driving, watch out for the Police. I think I saw atleast 20 people pulled over on my way here. BE SAFE

Thanks Chap. You and your homies are definitely invited to the single-wide at the RV park for refreshments in Midland. Just don't make fun if the uniforms and undergarments are out drying on the line. JK, it has a real washer/dryer.
