10-U Nor Cal Teams

by In it to win it » Wed May 18, 2011 6:53 pm

As far as I know, nobody has really challenged AASA from norcal. We will get a chance to see this Memorial Day tournament if teams will challenge them.

As far as the rankings go....the top three I will agree with, a for the rest its is all hit and miss.

Mizuno00 & CA Breeze could go either way a the #2. Mizuno has shown over the past that they can stay in games with their defense and generally take advantage of the other opponents mistakes. The Breeze is a team that can be scary if they are hitting the ball. If not, most games are generally close and can go either way. If they are hot, they can put a lot of runs on the scoreboard.

But then again, at this age hitting can win you games but defense will win you championships!!!!

MY OPINION, AASA HAVE ALOT OF TALENT. THEY R THE TEAM TO BEAT. IF BREEZE, MIZUNO AA, MAYHEM, CHAOS, GRAPETTES, TITANS, EXTREME, AND BUSTOS CAN ALL AGREE TO PLAY IN THE SAME TOURNAMENT IT WOULD BE NICE TO WATCH. AS FOR AASA THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT LEAGUE. THEY GOT GOOD COACHING/ PLAYERS AND SHOULD BE COMPETING IN A HIGHER LEVEL.

I do agree with FP43, AASA does have very good coaching and he will always have his girls ready to play. However, I disagree with the statement they are in a different league. They are not the powerhouse that finish so strongly at the end of summer and fall and then again at the beginning of spring. They have had their share of injuries as well as some girls choosing to leave. Yes, I do believe their quality of play has dropped somewhat and combined that with a few teams whose play is on the rise...they can be beaten.

This upcoming weekend of games should be very interesting to say the least!
It's not how you start...but how you finish that counts!

Hey EOS,

I truly like getting on HB and reading the material that many of us members put on here from time to time. This forum allows us to share our own personal opinions, make statements and critic facts. However it does come with having a responsibility of knowing what you’re actually saying.

Your assessment of our team is your own opinion and I’m truly cool with that. That’s what creates this forum as a vehicle for conversation. Now to my knowledge unless you know the inside status of our team, you might really really try getting your information & facts straight first before reporting inaccurate news. I’ll leave it at that. As for your belief in our quality of play dropping…………huh!! :? Really!!..........what are you watching? This just sounds like you wanted to say something to validate your previous comments.

There are some teams in our area that are really stepping up and are showing great improvement and have made tremendous strides in competing during the course of this season: CA Breeze, Mizuno AA 00, Grapettes, Mayhem, Rocklin Hype as well as many other teams that are working hard.

Hey you’re probably right, we can be beat as anybody can...........however..........

As for this past weekend’s Memorial Day Classic it was fun and exciting as many teams played well. In regards to our team and our "quality of play dropping off somewhat"…………………..hmmmmm was your Eye on Softball?? :D

For the most part you have shared great opinions with the bucket heads. All I’m saying here is just present creditable & actual facts and before you think this, NO I’m not sensitive and farrrrrrr from it for those who know me.

Just please keep......“Both Eyes on Softball”!! ;)

Where did your team play this past weekend? Who did you beat in the championship game? The final score of that game? What was the average margin of victory in each of your games?

According to the RESULTS, looks like EOS is talking out the bottom of his bucket, at least for the time being. Cruising to victory over the '#2' team when the stakes are highest pretty much sums up the level they're playing at right now. Did everyone just have an 'off day' against your team?

Unlikely, but we'll have to get the report from EOS before the evidence is ruled conclusive. :D

I have known "Slice" now for a couple years and have coached against him several times. AASA is by far the best 10U team in Norcal this spring. His team is the only team we play against that forces us into mistakes and that is due to the coaching. Yes the fact that a majority of the girls have been together for awhile now truely helps him "force" the action on the field but that is because he coaches his girls very well. There is no denying that. Is AASA beatable? Sure they are. Any team is beatable on the right day. Would it make that team the best? NO. Until you can constantly play with them and beat them on a regular bases they are the best. It is true that several teams have improve a great deal this year. Breeze, AA Mizuno, Grapes, Heat and others but it will take some more improving to be at AASA level. I wish AASA but of luck at Nationals and hope they represent Norcal well there but I also cant wait to play them again. Cause like I tell my team "to be the best you got to play the best."

I agree that they have some knowledgable coaches but lets not forget the undisputable talent of the players on AASA.
