Clip of Catcher Blocking to the side

What's on your mind?

by catchingcoach » Tue Jul 08, 2008 5:42 pm

I discussed in another post about blocking to the side. I wanted to show how even a block to the side can still be controlled and the ball can still be "placed" where the catcher wants it. The goal in a block is to have the ball end up between the batters box chalk lines.

The clip I have for that is of an 11 yr old baseball player but the mechanics are the same for softball.

The velocity and distance for the pitch were equivalent to a 70 MPH pitch from the big mound.
